Always a great meal here. The menu offers a variety of options and every course is delicious. Staff are friendly, attentive and make you feel welcome. I can't wait for our next visit.

Nobody acknowledged us on arrival and when they eventually did we were made to feel uncomfortable as we had arrived early. (We had called earlier to confirm it was ok to arrive early and were told that was fine as long as we sat outside - it was a hot evening so this was fine with us) We then asked if it would be ok to just have a drink while we wait for our table and were told they were busy with drinks too so no. At this point we were feeling very unwelcome. The food was sub standard and one meal was removed from the bill but in short we would never go back to this place.

We had dinner at Lewis's Bistro and had delicious food. A generous, well cooked piece of seabass was accompanied by excellent fresh and really tasty vegetables. A fantastic little restaurant with lovely friendly staff.

Pleasantly surprised at the overall experience on a Saturday evening having booked earlier that day. Scallops nicely cooked. Delighted with the Chardonnay we drank. Fillet steak was quality and cooked as desired. Chicken supreme also good. Sticky toffee pudding to share and espresso martini both up to standard. Would book again.

Very disappointed in the nearly hour wait for our meal. Even more disappointed when paying my bill, and asked how it was. I kept it polite and said “ok”. But was pressed by the lady over and over to expand and when I did, she didn’t like my answer and as good as tried to turn it on ourselves. Never experienced customer service like it. I have booked for another meal for next Friday 24 Jul 26 at this bistro but obviously can you cancel this now please. Thankyou.

We had the most delicious meal at Lewis's Bistro - probably one of our best meals ever! I had the chicken with mushrooms and fondant potato in a gorgeous cream sauce and my hubby the sea bass which was equally delicious. The accompanying fresh vegetables were cooked to perfection too. We've eaten in many top restaurants all over the UK and Lewis's Bistro was up there with the rest! If Giles Coren were to visit Grasmere he would agree. Thank you so much for a wonderful evening in your lovely restaurant - we will def be back and will recommend to friends and family too x

Fantastic meal here, We shared the paprika hummus to start. We had red curry and seabass for mains and shared cheesecake for afters. It was all delicious. The service was great, nice and friendly and welcoming. Think booking is essential as we noticed a number of people walking in and asking if they could have a table. But there was nothing available. We would definitely recommend and definitely return.

What a delightful place to enjoy good, healthy food and a friendly atmosphere. Very unstuffy and realistically priced but with the feel that this is a good place for a special occasion. The seabass was astounding and yes I really enjoyed the pork belly too. Also plenty of veg which makes a change after a week of pub meals.

Excellent meal and very friendly staff, had the tempura vegetables and the prawns for starters and the confit pork and the herb crusted cod for mains and they were all delicious, best pork belly I have had in years.

We had a fantastic meal and can't recommend Lewis's highly enough for top quality dining in Grasmere. We shared a generous portion of bread, oil, balsamic and olives to start, then both had seabass which was a very well presented and fantastic tasting dish, a good portion size too. I only just had room to squeeze in the essential sticky toffee pudding! We rolled out very satisfied. Another customer nearby was not happy that the cheeseboard was unavailable, but they can't really help it if their delivery didn't arrive. We thought the service was great from the gent serving us and it was a really delicious meal, also lovely wine, where we were not rushed. Would definitely return (again) when next in the area.

A perfect meal to end a great week in Grasmere. We booked a couple of weeks in advance and were not disappointed! Easy to walk to if you are staying in Grasmere, or there is a great bus service too that stops near the bistro. The food was amazing with lots of gluten free options. Even though, I was full, having read a previous review I had the cheesecake, it was indeed delicious. The service was faultless, attentive but not overbearing and just the right amount of time between courses. A must visit if you are in Grasmere but remember to book.
