The Two Hares – GlossopI booked a 60th birthday party for 20 people at Baileys. Communication beforehand about menus (what was and what was not available), table set out and timings for everybody to arrive were EXCELLENT. For the meal itself, the bar staff and waiters were extremely friendly and could not do enough for all the guests to feel at ease and "at home". The food was excellent, hot to the table and well presented. The evening was a wonderful success and this was down to the staff at Baileys. Thank you very much. We will be going back there again. All 20 of us would recommend Baileys to all.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – Buxton5 star

Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonFabulous pre-theatre lunch yesterday (22/11/25), excellent food, good price and great service. Thank you Baileys team. We'll be back!! x
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonGreat find on visiting Buxton for the theatre Pre theatre menu was a good selection & very high quality produce & service would highly recommended
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe had a great breakfast here yesterday. Our only point would be that the poached eggs looked like they’d been left waiting and the eggs were hard. As a norm I do prefer a runny poached egg. Overall this looks like we will be going here on a regular basis. Definitely would recommend this cafe.
Renishaw Hall and Gardens Cafe – ChesterfieldWe had a lovely meal at The Old Gate Inn. There were 7 of us, one with a peanut allergy, one with an allergy to shellfish and one vegan, and nothing was too much. Incredibly friendly staff. Have been several times before and would absolutely return.
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockI visited here a few months back and the Sunday Roast was AMAZING. This time much less so, sadly. The beef was of a much lower quality (too gristly) and volume (much less of it). Last time I visited I’d have given you 5 out of 5 all round but this time I can’t as quite simply it was disappointing. I’ll visit you again in a few months and hopefully you’ll repeat my first experience not second one. If you don’t, I will look elsewhere.
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockWhat a lovely pub! Great atmosphere and wonderful food. We all had a Sunday lunch & it was delicious. Also very good value. Highly recommended
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockFirst time we have dined here. Food mediocre. Service excellent. Value for money ….expensive for what was served. Will not be visiting again.
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockWe came to" Baileys" on Friday evening to celebrate my husband's Birthday. We loved everything about it,the restaurant had come highly recommended by our niece who had been a few weeks earlier. The food was amazing, service top notch,it was very busy and a great atmosphere...thankyou for a great night.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – BuxtonWe went for lunch and were greeted by Ellie/Ella who was super friendly and efficient. The service was excellent and the food choices were good. We had the sharing platter and a couple of sides which were delicious. When we were leaving she asked what our plans were for later and suggested we come back to enjoy the live music. We were not disappointed! The atmosphere was brilliant and everyone was having a great time. Would definitely come again.
Baileys Bar and Restaurant – Buxton2nd time I have written a review for our visit, my first not published. I repeat, food very mediocre, chicken and leek pie, tasteless, soggy pastry produced in a microwave, a handful of chips and a green mush that was mixed vegetables ??? It seems that my views may have been shared by the dinners on the adjacent table who had food sent back to the kitchen. Staff excellent, very welcoming, the surroundings quaint, atmospheric, a super experience. Back to the food, expensive for what was served, the standard needs to be much higher. Ps Coffee was superb 10/10.
