Had a guided tour round the house yesterday followed by afternoon tea … The whole experience was lovely, really enjoyed looking round the house & the gardens. I have to say the gardens are some of the best I’ve seen ( I’m a National trust member so visit a lot) The afternoon tea was lovely, good selection of food & definitely worth the money. ( too much for us to eat) Will definitely be visiting again

Lovely afternoon tea in beautifully decorated room. Food was lovely, tea was delicious as was sparkling wine. Sandwiches were generous in portions although a little plain in flavour e.g beef with no mustard, cheese with no pickle. Staff were exceptional especially Jackie. Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon. Would recommend.

Pleasant environment and staff good but food choices limited and poor coffees. Unusual not to have expresso coffee machine serving fresh coffees in a restaurant of this type. Asked if scones were fresh today and advised delivered that day but definitely not freshly made. Overall won’t go back for food but good house visit and garden lovely.

Just come from Renishaw Hall cafe where we had our pre booked afternoon tea for two, I have to state that it was wonderful, all of it. The tea was well brewed and hot, the wonderful selection of food was all tasty and plentiful, made extra pretty with the addition of fresh fruits scattered like jewels amoung the cake and strawberry topped scones, I made sure to tell the very polite and efficient waitress that this tea scored more points with me that the one which we had at Highgrove recently, much better tea, food and value Well done the ladies of Renishaw cafe, keep up the good work

Renishaw is beautiful, the table was gorgeous but the food/drink wasn’t good. Iv been for many afternoon teas and never have I had tea/coffee out of a flask. The sandwiches were dry and fillings poor however the cake was good. The waitress was pouring hot drinks across the table over my 3 year old and also a 2 year old. The waitress also kept picking the cup up by putting her fingers inside it which was not ideal.

Limited choice, long delivery wait and pretty mean panini filling. This is a pretty restricted offering in a pleasant space - my advice would be to eat somewhere else…..

The fish and chips were delicious. Fresh fish in a wonderful batter and crispy chips. Would have preferred mushy peas. Ordered tea for two and asked for it to come with our meal only to be told that you have to have it when placed our food order. But because they were not to busy they would bring it with our food order. The food took 15-20 to arrive so the tea would have been cold. The food was absolutely delicious, but to large potions, we would have been better off sharing as both of us left some and went home feeling too full.

On recommendation we booked a table for lunch, 90 minutes prior to our booking for the hall tour. Having ordered we were told there was a delay of 35-40 minutes despite informing staff of our tour booking and the need for my husband to take insulin 20 minutes prior to eating. We waited 65 minutes for our food, having asked 3 times where it was. My husband gave himself his insulin at the time required to fit the 35-40 minutes delay. Utter chaos with several customers chasing food and walking out, some without eating at all. Needless to say we missed the start of the tour as they would not wait for us and my husband had a diabetic hypo due to having to wait so long. The venue needs to manage bookings better and turn people away when at kitchen capacity or get more staff. We would not recommend, the food and our visit to Renishaw was spoiled by the ridiculous wait and having to eat so fast.

Unfortunately despite booking a table in advance people had been allowed to ignore the reservation and sit at our table. We were met with lots of people complaining they had been waiting a long time for their food and asking for refunds as they were sick of waiting. Hardly any staff and badly managed. When we did eventually get a table and after I stood in the queue for at least 30 minutes I was told there was next to nothing left food wise. Absolutely abysmal. Such a shame.

I have literally never attended such a shambolic affair - we had booked a table and turned up at our allotted time. We arrived to be surrounded by at least 30 people queuing for food- several people told me that they had secured seats but had been waiting for two hours for their food to arrive!!! I spoke to a member of the waiting team who was almost in tears and said I could wait for my ( booked) table but it would be a long time and they were almost out of food! We did the logical thing and went to a nearby pub where in very short time we had an excellent lunch. The Hall must know on summer days how many people are booked into the Friday tours ( we were not) and should cater and staff accordingly. I felt so sorry for the staff on the front line trying to manage an impossible situation and cannot understand the arrogance of the Hall management that allows situations like the one I was involved in on Friday.

Booked a table for lunch at 1:45. The rooms and tables were full of irate customers. There was a long queue waiting to reach the counter. I understand customers arrived for a 12:00 booking and at 1:30 were still waiting. They had a tour of the house booked for 2pm. Our table wasn’t available. The café clearly had a problem. No one said what is was. Clearly the kitchen wasn’t functioning, the two waitresses were keeping their cool but as there was no explanation and the stress levels in the café were explosive, we left. Perhaps we should receive an apology??? Your questions - I’ve no idea about the quality of food although it’s a simple menu. I think the waitresses should have been treated with respect by the management team and not be left to face the music

6 of us came for Afternoon tea to celebrate a 40th wedding anniversary. I'd ordered 4 sweet and 2 savoury teas and a couple of extra scones and there was more than enough for everyone - in fact we brought some away. There was a very mixed selection of sandwiches, quiche, sausage rolls, pork pie, spring rolls, samosas and some unusual fig parcels. The cakes were equally varied, with fruit scones, red velvet cake, macron, mini cakes and brownies. I liked the variety and the slightly different. The table was beautifully decorated. The staff were very attentive, constantly checking if we were OK and topping up drinks. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. Excellent value for money. I will definitely be recommending to friends, and coming back again.

Two of us had a wonderful afternoon tea in the Rex Whistler room - it was superb! The table was decorated beautifully which set the tone for what was to come - the afternoon tea was served by very helpful efficient and friendly staff. The food was delicious and very fresh - a delightful way to spend a couple of hours. I must say, all staff we met throughout our visit were so friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend.

Food was lovely as always. We were seated in the bar area, the chairs are not comfortable for eating a meal

Food excellent. However, waited 40 minutes for Father’s Day breakfast for 5 people (2 which were children). Two of the breakfasts came out wrong.
