The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyThe Cottage Pie needs to be taken off the menu! It is barely “food”. I’m really not sure what it is made of but it is like dog food with “smash” mash on top. Definitely not what I expected for £6.75. This meal came with chips, peas and a grilled tomato which was not described on the menu. When ordering i asked for “extra veg” as part of healthy living and the server seemed confused asking “what kind of veg do you want”,I never received “extra veg”. The food was hot which was great! We had a fish pie which is always watery but tastes nice, Halloumi fries which tasted nice and were hot and cheesy garlic bread which was lovely and soft but there was far too much cheese! When the female server brought our food over she had very long pointy false nails which I thought were not professional at all, especially when serving the food. We arrived and were offered 3 tables. A man that seemed like the manager said that a certain table was a nice table so we agreed to sit there, he then went on to joke that “it is close to the bar”. We do not drink alcohol so it seemed unnecessary and we would of preferred to of been sat in a quieter part of the restaurant. We were sat right near the kitchen doors in what seemed like a family section of the restaurant. We were a couple eating that didn’t have our children with us on this occasion. We first came here together in 2013 as our first date. We used to come back at least once a month. We know come once a year because the food quality just seems to of dropped and it hasn’t really changed at all.
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyA while ago the Ragley had a fantastic reputation and if you hadn't booked a table then you wouldn't get in Then about 3 years ago the ownership changed and it went severely downhill. Food terrible and service worse. However, after I visited on Friday it felt like the old Ragley was back. Good food and service. Keep it going!
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyGreat meal at a good price yet again. Social distancing, sanitizing process in place as well as track and trace. Staff is friendly and fast service. Thank you

The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyWe ended up not eating here as we were disappointed with the staff they weren’t helpful. We were shown to our table upstairs, we asked if we could move downstairs as there was tables, staff said no as they were booked up. But no one was sat at them. Needs customer service training
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyFood was ok! Some staff were very polite! I thought someone would be giving you a gentle reminder of your table time but nothing! We were abruptly told our 2 hours were up and to leave the table!! What was rubbish we'd just ordered more drinks and we had to leave them as there was nowhere to stand to finish them off and management just said "you knew about your 2 hours !!" When your catching up with friends and family time gets away from you!! The Ragley has gone from being friendly and welcoming to just about getting people in and out and numbers.
The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyLovely meal and felt very safe

The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyAll COVID 19 guidance was visible. Warm Welcome at the door. Table was upstairs and asked to order at the bar not sure if we could have used app. Food arrived all as ordered. We were ten asked if we wanted and sauces. This could have been asked whilst we waited for food as it took a few minutes to find what we wanted. Overall food was nice service was good and would go back

The Ragley Boat Stop – DerbyLovely food, steak was amazing and cooked perfect. Only downfall is they don't have vinegar?? I like vinegar on my chips, very strange a restaurant not having this. Apart from that it was lovely and will go back again
