11a Church Street Restaurant and Bar – ExeterWe travelled from St Ives for my birthday and this was the best Indian meal I have ever had - except for those in India! The food was so wonderful I was upset when the meal was over. We will be regularly making the 160 mile round trip - it's worth it.
Veggie Perrins – PlymouthHave been 3 times and would go again. The food is really nice but it is a bit expensive, cost three of us £70 for a starter, main course and 2 drinks each. A good atmosphere but the peeling paint in the corner could be sorted.
Bamboo The – ExeterExcellent food, friendly staff and a romantic atmosphere what more could you want?!
Chloe’s Restaurant – PlymouthGreat hospitality from Dave & Bernie, cracking conversation; Dave's a surfing and VW camper guru
Hele Billys – IlfracombeExcellent for pre-theatre suppers: one of the few places where the timing and service seem designed to suit the customer and not vice-versa. Delicious and entertaining food - and the coffee is the best for miles around.
Chloe’s Restaurant – PlymouthVery well presented food. Great atmosphere, very nicely done classy restaurant well done to them
China Gardens – ExeterArguably the best Indian restaurant in Exeter. The food is Kashmiri in style (though the ownership is Bengali). Patient, friendly service, completely unfazed by unreasonable customers.
The Gurkha Kitchen – ExeterI have no idea how they managed to get this chef and manager partnership, absolute genius. It is only possible to get food like this in London or further. Michelin in the making!!! 5 Stars
Muddiford Inn – BarnstapleZizzi's is lovely! Had a fab evening there, I am veggie and the waiter recommended a lovely pasta dish for me. My partner said their 'meat balls' were the best he'd ever had!...the staff were really helpful and friendly. Not expensive considering how great the food and service is. Planning to go again very soon!
Zizzi – ExeterVery comfortable and fantastic dishes. Thai fish cakes were great.
Galley Fish Restaurant With Rooms – TopshamExcellent food, personal service, a great evening experience. Outstanding mussels.
Waterside Bistro – TotnesI Like this place - a good all rounder. Breakfast, lunch, evening meal - all good. Great service by really friendly and helpful staff, the location is good too.
Montys – PlymouthPub grub - perfectly acceptable for what it is - nice beer garden, good pint, friendly staff. Busy location.
Morley Arms – PlymouthI'm not even sure if they do food here, I've never been in looking for it, it's a must to visit though - the atmosphere is great and there's usually some music going on - if you haven't tried it give it a go - you won't regret it.
Minverva Inn – PlymouthA nice place - a bit hit and miss to be honest on the food front - I've had excellent food and OK food there. But the staff are friendly and welcoming - if you have kids they're welcome too.
Kings Arms – PlymouthThis is a pub as oppose to a great place to eat - it's all cheap and cheerful really. It's the place to go though for some live music and good atmosphere, the beers OK too.
Millbridge Inn – PlymouthIn the centre of Plymouth this is a great place to get together with friends for a boozy lunch! The service is good, the food's fine and there's lots of it. Worth a visit.
Lorenzo – PlymouthSunday Menu: 2 courses, £31; 3 courses, £39.50.
