Chilli Tree – Hornchurchlovely food and very good atmosphere.
Shanghai Buffet – Romfordhad the Xmas deal 2 courses for 9.95. Very small portions...2 small roast potatoes for a xmas dinner. I'm a tiny person and not a big eater but felt they could have given 3 or even 4 spuds!!
Mawney Arms – RomfordTERRIBLE!
The Queens Arms – Waltham AbbeyHad a fantastic meal with friendly staff and great food. Top class service. Thankyou 5 star
The Mogul – OngarWent to wildwood at half 1 on a Thursday lunchtime, the setting is great and the restaurant looked nice, unfortunately that's all the positives I have to give! We were shown to a table quickly enough but then we sat there for 25 mins before someone remembered we were there. Our order was taken and the drinks arrived promptly with an apology, then the wait for the food begun which is even worse when one is agitated and hungry! Eventually it arrived after 20 mins (for 2 cheeseburgers, the restaurant was not even 20 full and we were the only table that was not eating!). The food is average at best and thus making it overpriced. Then there was THE cardinal sin placed upon me, a hair in my food. Needless to say I won't be returning and will be advising anybody to do the same!
Wildwood – ChelmsfordFantastic, fresh and delicious food. very good quality and amazing presentation! highly recommend! x
The Angel and Harp – DunmowI LOVE MARINA'S..!!! you rock..!!! =)
Marina Fish Bar – DagenhamMe and my son severely disappointed with the service form cherry leaf today (the cherry leaf staff are great) but today two individuals of cherry leaf severely i order came without the ordered rice upon pickup so we phoned up and they where great again and said we would deliver it. 30 minutes later we rang and apparently the knocked for about 5 minutes but no answer our living room door was open and right next to the front door, so he rudely attempted to dismiss us and wouldn't apologies at least after free of charge i had delivered 150 leaflets for the (normally) lovely cherry leaf staff two of which where not present where as they would have apologized and worked the situation out. THEREFORE I THOUGH AFTER Y MEAL WAS COLD THAT I WOULD EXPRESS MY OPINION (IM NOT ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO SPENDS THERE LIFE COMPLAINING ON THESE WEBSITES)
The Cherry Leaf – BenfleetJust had fish and chips for Three people at a cost of £17! Fish was dry chips cold and also dry, so at that price and quality I won't be returning
The Ideal Fish Bar – Leigh On SeaAbsolutely Fantastic food, Staff are always friendly. Price's very affordable as well. Top place to eat.
Chiang Mai – Southend On SeaThe food was great, and the staff were so friendly, service with a smile.
Faircross Fish Bar – BarkingEnjoyed a number of Saturday breakfasts for our guys from Avenue Baptist Church. Michelle and team always helpful and the coffee is great!
The Sunflower Eaterie – Southend On SeaI most definitely would NOT recommend this establishment, which I visited with my husband on the Bank Holiday. The women is charge was so very rude to customers that we watched several of them walk out - one young couple she followed out, telling them off for taking up too much room in a virtually empty cafe, as she went. Such a shame - this used to be a lovely spot for a scone.
Philpott’s Tearooms – Waltham AbbeyImpressive quality for the price. Quick, pleasant service.
Missoula – RomfordCharleys bar is a good bar with a good atmosphere.
Charleys Bar – Canvey IslandRajpoot cuisine is a lovely restaurant with great service an above all the best Indian food within the Southend area.
Rajpoot Indian Cuisine – BenfleetRecently completed a period of almost 6 years contract working at GSK Harlow and from the time it opened in around 2007 (I think) throughout the rest of my time there, I went to Indian Moments at least once and occasionally twice a week. Saeed and all the team front house and kitchen too were excellent such that I count as friends of mine. The food is simply sensational - there's no other way to say it. None of the nonsensical pursuit of heat-type curries there! Finesse on every level such that the subtleties of all the spices can be appreciated. If I ever needed to organise a first-timer introduction to food from the sub-continent, this is where I would bring the initiates. It's really THAT good and an on-going credit to everyone who still is or has ever been involved in creating the place. It's simply the finest Indian restaurant I've ever eaten in. The Shaun fella above must have gone to another place entirely or dreamt his visit because in my view he knows nothing at all about Indian cuisine.
