Taylors Pie & Mash – ColchesterTHE new place to be in Leigh - the real deal - laid back, cool crowd, live music. Will be back to try the food.
Ten Green Bottles – Leigh On SeaGreat little bar, food is excellent and the character is topped off nicely with the live music. My new local!
Ten Green Bottles – Leigh On SeaNice small cosy restaurant that looks like it has not been decorated for at least three decades. The menu was decent & this is certainly not one of those high straight ‘Italian’ restaurants’s that sell little other than stereotypically Italian pizza & pasta dishes. This was definitely more authentic than that kind of fare, which was a big plus. There was a mixed response to the dishes we ordered from our group of eight but I think on the whole everyone enjoyed their meals. My main special of slow cooked beef shoulder was delicious but I was less impressed with my starter of deep fried whiting, prawn & crab claw. This wasn't very exciting at all & made me think of the kind of finger food you buy frozen from the supermarket. I didn't have dessert but some of these that were ordered also looked like they came from a packet. Presentation was at worst sloppy & best quite ordinary & definitely had a pub grub look about it. Our bill worked out around £40 a head, which is not bad at all considering the drinks we had. I'd go back for sure but I’d drink less to make it a better value meal out.
Umberto’s Restaurant – HornchurchWe visit the sister branch of Village Indiya in Hadleigh/Benfleet, and the food is spectacular. It is very different to your standard/average Indian restaurant. The menu is brilliant, and every dish we've tried tastes so fresh, with so many beautiful spices and flavours. Very well priced also. I look forward to returning. Highly recommended!
Village Indiya – Grayssuperb pub food at a high standard really friendly family atmosphere, thanks for the new monkhams
Monkhams Inn – Buckhurst HillNew friendly owners very good beer big TV in one bar , the snug quiet, pool &darts. I did not sample the food
Maybush Inn – HarwichAvoid. Poor food, much from packets, shabby decor, scruffy facilities.
Affinity 1777 – Leigh On SeaI would not recommend this to anyone, we had a take away today and the food was covered in oil, the duck was so dry and the whole curry was flavourless, the prawns tasted off and we have kept them in the fridge incase we become ill! A real disappointment, we only ordered because of the free voucher!
Lakeview Indian Cuisine – HalsteadI would recommend to go there! Amazing foods! Planning to go there again! xx
The Angel and Harp – Dunmowi don't need a £20 voucher to tell you how good the food and service was at wildwood.i cant fault it.can recommend the steak it was perfect.nice polite staff and lovely surroundings.
Wildwood – Chelmsfordhave been going to davey`s for years the food is absolutely brilliant so much so we are hoping to come all the way from London to davey for my mum`s 83rd birthday lunch
Davey’s Restaurant – Clacton On SeaYuva in little Debden village was an amazing experience! Wonderful food, lots of flavours and above all 'fresh'. Me and my friends went from Cambridge, well worth the journey.
Yuva – Saffron Waldenthis is one of the best fish and chip shops in the whole of hainult and london. their portion sizes are extremely big especially their chips there small portion is the size of most large portions in other fish and chip shops
Marianna Fish Shop – ChigwellImagine a 1950s London Italian restaurant with Chianti bottles, artex ceilings and a decor last refurbished when Frank Sinatra was struggling to get served in a Hoboken bar and you have the feel. Clearly they will sell you Lasagne, Minestrone and Tiramisu; and it is all pretty good stuff. Comfort food Italian style. They also do a few more sophisticated specials with a nice take on matching sauces to good quality meat. Fish specials always seem to feature, and judging by the frequent changing of the specials board I guess they just buy and cook whatever they fancy doing on the day. For a small suburb Hornchurch seems to have a lot of Italian places, this is the pick of the crop; smaller, independent and we a bit of variety. Only gripe was the limited choices when it came to wine.
Umberto’s Restaurant – Hornchurchthe food is good and the drinks are good the people are nice
The Sheldrake Pub – Clacton On SeaGreat cuisine, nice surroundings, excellent service...I would certainly visit again. Kusturi is the hidden Gem of Harwich!
Kasturi – HarwichWhat a waste of money, waited 45 minutes for lunch which consisted of a cold burger and fries and a seafood pizza with no cheese and very little seafood, what a shame a nice setting and very disinterested staff,
