Lovely place to go for an office lunch. Good food, atmosphere and service.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterThis place never fails to please. Their Buddha bowl is both generous and gorgeous and the quiche my friend enjoyed was apparently lovely as always too. Fresh food, prepared onsite with a wonderfully varied menu that should please everyone. The staff are as lovely as the food and surroundings so it’s no surprise that it’s safest to book. I have no hesitation in giving everything here a 5/5.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterLunch visit with a friend. Great interesting seasonal menu that suits all tastes and appetites . Both of us chose one of the specials which were delicious. Friendly efficient service. Perfect for a bit of shopping too !
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterMy friend and I both had the small breakfast. As always very good, great atmosphere and service.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterAnother enjoyable brunch. The service was first class as always and the food was delicious. Clean plates and full tummy’s all round. Enjoyed our overall experience and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterHad a fantastic meal . The staff are lovely especially one lady who was really nice to our son with autism. The food was the best roast dinner with have out. The service of the staff was amazing. Will definitely be back.
The Ship Gidea Park – RomfordHad a lovely lunch and browse in The Barn. Food was excellent. I had tart of the day but my new potatoes were too hard to eat. The negative for me was there was garlic in a lot of the dishes, and I have an intolerance to it. Would recommend it though (as I already have).
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterDespite living under 5mins drive away, this is only our second visit to Skylark in as many months. And why we’ve not been more often - or visited sooner - I have no idea!! What a special place. There are no airs and graces to Skylark but the location, atmosphere and food are brilliant. It’s a wonderfully laid back venue where you immediately leave your days stresses at the door. The plus side for us is that dogs are made to feel welcome and not an inconvenience. Each dog was given a treat on arrival, a bed to ensure their comfort and enough cuddles and fuss to keep any attention-seeking dog satiated. The food has been fantastic on both visits (breakfast and pizza) and the staff amazing! This will - has - become our new “go to” local. In the words of Arnie - “I’ll be back!”
Skylark Social – Colchesterhad a fantastic sunday lunch here! best one for ages! lovely food and service and great atmosphere will defo be returning soon !
The Dukes Head – Bishops StortfordI have had a Sunday lunch here twice now and I can honestly say I think the beef is the best I have eaten in a very long time! Cooked to perfection and just how I like it. Compliments to the chefs and all the staff there. 10/10

The Owl – LoughtonHad a lovely roast dinner there yesterday with my family. The staff were excellent and one lady was really nice to our son with autism.
The Ship Gidea Park – RomfordAlways a pleasure coming here. The coffee has improved and a good selection of food. My only negative is the price of the Budda bowl which seems expensive and a small selection of ingredients.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterFood was lovely although chunky chips were overcooked. Bit of a wait for the food to arrive
