I’ve had the 6 course menu deal via Groupon several times now; the food is always delicious and varied, the service impeccable, and there’s always a lovely ambience. Great value for money!

The Blue Anchor – ColchesterExcellent Sunday roast beef with all the trimmings, nice staff, a truly nice experience.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterThe food was lovely but sadly, the service was awful. We waited 45 minutes after finishing our food by which time it was obvious no one was going to clear the table and ask if we wanted anything else. Others around us seemed to be having issues too.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterHave been several times before however yesterday was disappointing I had booked a table however attention at check in was slow followed by very snappy waitress with a "drinks only " greeting. Then a long wait for food ordering, drinks arriving and food arriving. Food was ok . It seemed clear that staff were short or something however there are nicer ways to manage these issues. I had two first time guests with me and they were not impressed. A really poor experience and i shall thin twice before coming again and certainly not bringing friends.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterLovely staff, very friendly & polite. Food delicious, coffee great. My ‘go’ to place to meet with friends with great shopping, for home & garden. Highly recommend!
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterFood good but service so slow, sat for 20 mins and then went and asked for some service!!! Then they brought food before drinks, not food, shame because such a nice place to meet up with friends
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterMy friend and I booked a table for yesterday 23rd March for coffee and scone. Scones were fine my coffee was fine my friends Latte was cold. She asked the girls behind the counter if they could make her a hot one and their attitude was rather rude with eyes rolling. Making her feel uncomfortable. They took their time doing her a fresh one which thankfully was hot and drinkable. We did mention it to a young man on leaving who said he would speak to them. My friend and I have worked in the service industry all our working lives she a nurse and me in sales . Manners cost nothing but lack of manners and respect to your customer base may lead you to losing custom and having reviews like this about your staff.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterThree people and we all chose the Buddha Bowl, we love it, so tasty. Also it’s gluten free which is a bonus for me . It’s always packed so service not always great.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterHad a great lunch yesterday for my husband’s birthday., such a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Staff were very friendly, efficient & helpful & excellent food great presentation. as usual. No hesitation in recommending this delightful pub/restaurant. We certainly will be back again.
The Blue Anchor – ColchesterWent with 2 friends for coffee and cheese scones. Excellent scones, excellent service, ambient surroundings, favourite garden centre. Lovely atmosphere as usual. Tends to be a bit noisey but that’s only downside.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterHonestly everything was lovely but we was sat next to the table near the back door, and the air-conditioning unit which made the experience very cold even with a coat on. This was manageable, however what was not acceptable was when our table watched a member of staff exiting the disabled toilet with their gloves on tucking themselves in whilst exiting said toilet, we did not stay after this and unfortunately will not be returning.
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – BasildonGreat food friendly staff the only problem is that it was cash only other then that great
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – BasildonI was recommended this venue for Sunday lunch so I booked a table for my husband and I. It was extremely busy when we arrived yet we didn’t have to wait for a table and were warmly welcomed. Our order was taken promptly and the food arrived without delay. I had Roast pork and my husband had roast beef. The beef was a little tough but the pork was lovely and there was plenty of both. A full plate of Sunday lunch trimmings and a dish of fresh vegetable all of which were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The service was excellent and it was very good value for money. In fact, we were so full that we could manage one of the delicious looking cakes and deserts. Maybe next time we will.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterHad the Sunday roast, good food, large portion and came quickly. Excellent service. Only downside was smell of urinals
The Blue Anchor – ColchesterNice food, good value for money and friendly service.
The Blue Anchor – ColchesterExcellent breakfast as always. Your staff are amazing.
The Barn Garden Centre Cafe – ColchesterStarter & main course were both superb & beautifully presented. Service was good too. Restaurant very busy for a Friday afternoon.
The Blue Anchor – ColchesterWent to dinner as a 4, 1 of us ate different foods to the other 3 and that person ended up getting food poisoning and becoming quite unwell. We were also asked to leave due to enforcement offices found illegal activity going on in the kitchen, didn’t manage to eat our moneys worth. Won’t be going back
