Amazing! food, service and ambience perfect!

Amazing experience, perfect cooking, amazing balance of flavours and great understanding of seasonal ingredients. slightly too loud but then its a busy pub! we will be back! best meal in Exeter in many many years!

Went for Sunday lunch for teen’s birthday. Meat and veggie roasts both very tasty, and staff welcoming and friendly.

Absolutely fabulous meal. We will be back.

My partner and I had a lovely supper last night at The Hour Glass. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our meal was delicious and perfect portion size. I would definitely recommend The Hour Glass Inn for a meal and or a drink in a welcoming pub.

Went for an evening meal with friends on a Friday. Lovely atmosphere, attentive and very friendly staff, delicious food beautifully presented.

We four enjoyed our lunch time meal. The vegetarian cauilflower dish was superb as was the fish dishes and my chicken. The triple cooked chips was an excellent added extra.

Excellent food, excellent service. Absolutely loved going to the Hour Glass for my anniversary. Will be back soon!

Delicious Sunday lunch with huge portions. Very friendly service - even treats for the dog. I've seen some comments below about the roasties and on previous occasions I might have agreed, but this time they were lovely so perhaps notice was taken of the previous reviewers.

Excellent meal and service.

The food was fabulous. Friendly, helpful staff and great pub ambience. We found it a little difficult to hear - acoustics a little harsh. Maybe we’re just old.

We ate here for the first time yesterday as a treat for.my birthday. The food and service were sensational. We shared the beef cheek cottage pie, it was delicious. We just wished we lived closer as would definitely make this our local. Thank you for making my birthday a memorable one xox

Lovely lunch here Easter Saturday. All the food was delicious with little tweaks such as smoked mash that added to the meal. great atmosphere and service!

I recently had a Sunday birthday lunch with 14 of my friends, we had the most amazing time. The food was very good quality, small criticism, roast potato’s a bit hard, possibly frozen not fresh ?? And I really love my roast spuds so this affected my food / value for money ratings, hopefully they take note. The staff were very efficient, great service and very friendly. The old pub had a great atmosphere both down in the restaurant with its own bar and upstairs in the main bar. We were in no rush to leave and stayed until around 8 in the evening, I would recommend the venue for small groups / parties and will certainly be looking to book again,
