Wonderful! Last minute booking as was in this part of Exeter and what a find! Everything was excellent - staff, food and wine - could not fault thank you so much

I had my birthday meal here with family and a Sunday Roast. Wonderful portions, the pork was delicious and all the veg was yummy; cabbage carrots and stuffing, cauliflower cheese, roasties and even brisket in the beef yorkshires. We were all very happy with our tasty meals, and with the lovely fire in the bar. We will be back. Thank you

Lovely pub, great food and friendly service

We had such a lovely evening at The Hourglass celebrating a birthday with seven friends. The food was incredible, beautifully presented and full of flavour, and the service was fantastic. Thank you for looking after us so well and making the evening feel special. Five stars from us!

Sunday Lunch for 4 did not disappoint. Very generous portions, loads of yummy veg, friendly staff. Would highly recommend. We will be back!

We didn’t know there was more than one dinning room so we were advised we would be downstairs. My husband uses a walking stick following spinal surgery so stairs are a problem. Luckily there is another entrance to the downstairs room which we were quickly shown so all resolved. Food was plentiful and extremely tasty, I particularly liked the Yorkshire pudding full of slow cooked brisket. We were so full after our lunch we weren’t able to to eat another course. We will definitely come again. Service excellent.

Booked a table of 6 for a Sunday evening. Giles rang me on the Friday to explain that they would only be serving small plates and sides and gave me the opportunity to cancel in case we had wanted main meals. Decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed. Cracking food, brilliant service and we all said we’d return. A really great find and we’ll be recommending to local friends. Thank you! And bonus points for actually being open and serving food on a Sunday evening!

What a lovely spot. Food was amazing and Cassie (FOH) and Gary (Bar) took amazing care of us and were a bloody good laugh tbh!! We’ll be back :)

Our group of six (post Hen Do!) had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Hour Glass Inn. The staff struck the perfect balance of being attentive yet able to leave us to chat and take our time with the food - which created a perfectly welcoming atmosphere. The food was outstanding, especially the vegan options across all courses so none of our party felt left out. Good drinks, and a comfortable pace, - the staff really do care and are great hosts.

Not the first time I have been here and it lived up to expectations. Had the supreme of chicken which was excellent. Difficult to find any fault. Good value for the quality of food served. It's also great to see that it is still very definitely a locals pub, albeit with the dining room tucked away.

Great night out the food was lovely , Giles and Kate are always very welcoming and helpful as are all the staff. The Hour glass is a real one off . See you soon John and Caroline Griffiths

This place is an absolute gem in Exeter! We had a lovely Sunday lunch which included a generous selection of roast meats. Staff were very friendly. We were sat in a cosy room which was not too noisy or stuffy, despite being full. Well be back again soon!
