We were put in the conservatory which was noisy with kids. We are a mature couple an expected to be place somewhere a bit quieter. Food was OK. Wouldn't rush back. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.

Very disappointed with our experience yesterday. I booked online for 2 pm. We ordered drinks and food within 10 minutes of arriving and 10 minutes passed and still no drinks had arrived. We were told that there would be a half hour wait on food. There was a party of 30 dining and the kitchen staff clearly couldn’t keep up with the number of meals to be served. To summarise, the service was terrible as there were hardly any staff and we waited an hour for food and 25 minutes for drinks. 2 out of the 3 meals had uncooked chewy cabbage. I would not recommend dining her at the moment until this has been resolved. Such a shame as have been dining here for over 30 years and never had a problem !

We were warmly welcomed including our dog! Staying nearby in Delamere Forest. Food was amazing - I had Steak and frites and my husband had Steak pie. Pooch chose the “growl bowl” from the dog menu - chicken,sausage and carrots he loved it! We didn’t have room for pudding, will have to visit again.

We enjoyed our lunch at The Carriers. It was an ideal dog friendly place for family members to meet before heading to our holiday venue. We were made very welcome. There's a good menu, including one for dogs.

We came here for a birthday lunch before going on to a nearby activity. The carriers inn made the meal extra special for my friend with a little bottle of fizz. Such a lovely touch! The food was really nice and the service was brilliant. I would highly recommend.

Brilliant pub. Really lovely sophisticated atmosphere but also very family friendly. We were very impressed with the Sunday roast and the liver. Kids can order mini portions of the main dishes, which is a much better than the boring kids food you get at most places.

Very polite and friendly staff who were efficient. Food arrived quickly with good portion sizes and was well cooked would happily eat here again.

Our second visit to this lovely pub but this visit was very disappointing compared to the previous one. Service was very poor. Waiter seemed to have no experience and we had to keep reminding him what we had ordered. We were also very uncomfortable with the amount of fly's around us! The potatoes served with the vegetarian tart were undercooked and inedible. No desire to return.

Booked a romantic meal for two managed to get a table at very short notice. There was a good selection of meals on the menu I chose the regular haddock and chips my wife the chicken in Sriracha sauce. My fish was super large and delicious my wife totally enjoyed her meal also. We both had a desert of Belgian waffle and ice cream which was to die for. Services was excellent and the price reasonable for the venue

Great food and attentive and friendly staff, we are moving to the area in 2025 so to find a 'local' as nice as this on our doorstep is a big positive, looked to be lost planned for 2025 with tribute nights etc!

We had lunch here with 2 friends recently. The food was really good and the portions very generous. The buttermilk and smokey bacon light bite with fries was really tasty and freshly cooked. Our friends were really impressed with their meals and drinks too. The service and value and friendliness of the staff was first class. We'll definitely be going back.

Excellent meal at the white lion. Great customer service, lovely atmosphere. Great food. Will definitely return.

Booked ahead here for a party of 7 as we were visiting Manley Mere for a birthday and wanted a nice meal afterwards, it did not disappoint, venue and location are lovely, staff were friendly and helped with birthday cake, food was very good and fresh with lots of options, plus good value for money so would definately recommend, son had the Hacienda Burger, never seen anything so big!

We had a family meal and enjoyed it immensely. The steak and ale pie was the best I've ever had in a pub; light, flakey pastry on top of a proper pie with plenty of delicious meat inside. The apple pie likewise was delicious. They also had very good cask ale. And all reasonably priced. And a dog-friendly pub.
