We had an excellent Sunday roast. Good portion sizes, very tasty and the staff were very attentive. Beer was also first rate.

A bit disappointing. A significant number of dishes on the menu were not available. Some of the food that we did have was also poor and service was slow. It seemed under staffed. The manager did later apologise when I paid our bill and explained the limited menu was due to delivery of food had not been made due to the Xmas week.

Food was lovely but so many thinks not available on the menu( we were booked in for 12:30 so would not have sold out. Service was very slow considering it wasn’t particularly busy

The pub is bright and well laid out. Service was a bit rushed and chaotic. Generally food okay. We had a nice evening but thought it a bit miserable that they gave 3 of our group of 7 Christmas crackers and serviettes and not all of us just because we didn’t all order from the Christmas menu!

Really nice evening, lots of variety and couldn't do enough for us!

The staff are very poor not attentive probably due in large part to the manager who has no client facing skills himself and is flippant and not committed to the job. Our first choice meal was not available so we had the cheese pie which was nice. I will not be returning any time soon given our experience it is a problem pub and will remain so with the current staff in place.

We visited on a Tuesday at 5:30 and chose from the Chippy Tea Tuesday menu. It was delicious, nicely presented and great value for money. The staff were friendly and attentive. It's a lovely old building, full of character with a nice atmosphere. The seasonal autumnal decorations were not lost on us, giving a warm and welcoming vibe. We didn't want to leave!

We visited the awaiting Lion for the first time to meet with friends for lunch. We were given a very warm welcome. The interior is superb - a real fire in the bar with plenty of space. The restaurant is bright and airy but very cosy with plenty of room between the tables. We were given as much time as we wanted with no pressure from staff. The menu has a great range of meals and caters for those with particular dietary preference and requirements. The mens also offers great value for money. The service was superb - efficient, polite and friendly. We will certainly visit again.

Nice cosy pub, was surprised at how warm it was. (Welcome this time of year). Polite staff and friendly environment. Food was nice as were the deserts. Sorry I didn't take any photos. Plenty of parking space and a dog friendly part of the pub available too. Will definitely visit again soon.

Popped in on Monday with my husband for lunch, what a beautiful pub. It was lovely and busy with a great atmosphere. We both chose from the 2 for 1 menu, a Chicken Tikka Curry and Ham,egg and chips. Food was really nice, very hot, presented well and great value. Will definitely be back. Lovely staff. Well done Carriers Inn

The meal unfortunately was average my curry was cool the pies were fine and the other meal chilly con carne didn't have much taste. The puddings were okay but the eaton mess was nothing like one and over priced.
