Stopped for Sunday lunch loved it fabulous place x

This was my first visit, had a light lunch and a dessert, it was a very warm day, we sat inside with a beautiful view and a lovely breeze. Will certainly visit again and would recommend.

Good was great service was dire. Over an hour and half wait for main course and no drinks service after first round

The food was ok but lots of things not on the menu, not great for a booking on Father’s Day. Service was poor and slow. Waited 30 mins for drinks then a further 50 mins for our meal, not ideal with 3 young children.

Sunday lunch nice food good service liquor coffee topped Sunday off nicely !!

Everything we had was fine but we were concerned by the amount of things off the menu - no pies, no fish crumble, no mixed grill & no roasts. It was Sunday at 6pm. More surprising was asking for coffee at 7.45 to be told the coffee machine had been cleaned & was off & no mint tea. If a reason had been given that might have been helpful. It’s a decent pub & I’ll try again due to proximity to somewhere I meet friends but only once more.

I've wanted to try the food at the White Lion after passing several times and always seeing the carpark busy. However, I was immediately disappointed as my first impression was staff that seem very disorganised in this lovely village pub. We arrived about 10 minutes early for a Sunday Lunch booking and not one staff member of the four at the bar seemed to take charge to welcome guests. All too busy perhaps...umm? Who is Front of House? There is no advertisement at the bar or on the Notice Board for the Sunday Lunch Roast meats available, which our server failed to mention too. There are only a few lines hidden on the Menu about Sunday Lunch which offers additional sides Cauliflower Cheese or Pigs in Blankets. Why not make Sunday Lunch a 'big thing' like most other pubs? That said when the Roasts arrived I was relatively happy with the presentation and the quantity. No English Mustard, just French or Wholegrain, and I had to track down my own Salt and Pepper as these are not placed out on the tables? The Roast Beef was ok, a little overcooked (well done) and far too thick. One particular slice was about 1cm thick and very tough (even for someone with my own teeth). The remainder or the Roast was very nice. Lovely 'al dente' vegetables. I was also slightly disappointed with my desert which was a slice of Cherry Pie that had been 'nuked' in a microwave. Thus, the pastry was soggy and the filling volcanic. Perhaps just serve it cold with ice-cream instead, or reheat in an airfryer to keep the pastry crisp. Perhaps it was an off day at The White Lion, so I'll be sure to try it again before making a decision.

Having been here in the past and had a nice meal we decided to return tonight for a last minute family meal - I wish we never wasted the money! Kids meals were terrible - how can you go so wrong with pizza and chips? A warmed up cheap microwave pizza at best. I myself ordered chilli - which was mince in tinned tomatos watered down - I sent it back and ordered Ham eggs and chips instead- not sure which meal was worse. No apology given for the awful 1st meal either. I would not recommend this pub to anyone.

Great, friendly atmosphere. Lovely food, and excellent service!

Warm welcome and great service from Jo. Delicious food (halloumi and chips;have,egg and chips) which came very quickly. Pleased to have several VG options to choose from. Only thing that could improve is option for vegetable side order. A lovely little pub and very good value. We will be back often.

Having been visiting the White lion for over 15 year as it’s are local pub there has been a disappointing deterioration in the quality of food and the presentation, we do continue to visit but again disappointed on Friday , the salad dressing is now just olive oil it’s just some salad leaves no tomatoes cucumber onions, which for the cost of the starter we feel is poor . There was no table mats or cutlery put on the table till after the starter had been delivered and it’s wasn’t busy at all . The spot light was faulty over the table facing the wrong way making the table dark when I asked could it be turned to face the correct way was told there waiting to get it fixed . We will continue to visit but would love to see a return to better quality food and service .

I had the pate which previously has been the nicest pate we have ever tasted the new one on the menus is no were near the quality of the previous pate that always served with chutney. Excellent service and location

Regularly visit for dinning. Friendly staff, good menu, reasonable prices and tasty food. We ate inside but they do have a lovely outdoor seating area and there is plenty of parking.

Lovely meal,defo go again.
