First visit. Lovely atmosphere and pleasant helpful staff. Came for Sunday roast and chose beef. Large portions. Carrots and broccoli first class cabbage stalks need removing or cooking more. Potatoes and Yorkshire very good. However beef was tough and overcooked. Less well done and slicing thinner would improve. Will visit again as is good value lunch overall. Try turkey next time
White Lion at Alvanley – FrodshamWe came for the first time as a result of the 50% off bill /new autumn menu offer. The pub is very nice inside and staff were pleasant and efficient. The starters of prawn was fine the Brie was ok. The main courses of goulash and chicken and bacon salad promised more than they delivered as did the Bakewell dessert. The food very much looked and tasted bought in and heated up and whilst what we paid was a bargain at 50% off we would not have been happy to have paid full price. It’s a pity because it’s a lovely pub and the menu looks great , on the surface , but what is presented just doesn’t look as if anyone cares about the food other than heating it up.

The pub was busy however the staff were quick to take our order and bring us our drinks. There was plenty of choice on the menu and between the four of us we ordered the beef bourguignon, lasagne and American burger, all were delicious and impressive portions. I would thoroughly recommend the Carriers Inn, great food and friendly and attentive staff

The service was very good and all staff were professional, polite and attentive. There was plenty of choice on the menu to suit all of our party. Food and drink orders were taken after we had all had a chance to view the menu and our choices were served in a timely fashion Our meals were presented to high standard. The Carriers Inn – FrodshamDisappointed restaurant was cold on arrival and didn't really get warmer while there. Worse day of the year weather wise and no fires lit. Table for 8 we were cramped in the corner not comfortable while the rest id the restaurant was empty am sure there was a better table we could of had. Food was nice enough. Disappointed as it was a family meal for my mums 81st birthday spoilt the day really as expected better.

Would highly recommend this pub if you would like a good quality service and a mouth watering meal. 10 out of 10 from me & my wife. We will return soon.
White Lion at Alvanley – FrodshamHad a fantastic meal Visited with family over from Canada so this was their farewell evening We had a variety of starters , mains and desserts which we all delicious and well presented I’m just glad I chose the small fish and chips as the large was HUGEEEEE. The young lady who served us was wonderful. Very attentive, service with a smile. Nothing too much trouble. (Cannot remember her name but she had just returned from travelling Vietnam. On my behalf please say Thank You. All I. All nothing to complain about so we will be back I I will recommend you to our bed and breakfast guests. Thank you.

The Carriers Inn – FrodshamIt's a really nice pub with lovely beer garden and great service. The menu is amazing, now here comes the 'but'. The quality of the actual food has plummeted since our last visit; for example the fish cake might once have been in a distribution centre that had previously held a fish, but that's as close as it gets. The nachos used to be covered in real cheese, but now it's just a pretty poor nacho sauce that once again has only a passing acquaintance with actual cheese. Other reviews have talked about the pub having given up and I think that's a very fair assessment. Come back in the summer.....
The Carriers Inn – FrodshamWe came for lunch here on 28th August. The place was lovely. Staff were very polite and friendly. I’m gluten free & the menu for that was really good with a lot of choices. Everyone enjoyed their meal & we will come back again in the future. The only downside was after we paid the bill & got back home & looked at the receipt we had been charged for an extra drink that we didn’t order. Next I will check the receipt before we pay.
