Never dissapoints-food and ale

Absolutely splendid. Fantastic food and hospitality. I had the vegan alternative whilst my mother had the normal afternoon tea. Everything was spot on. I would heartily recommend it. We used a gift voucher and it’s a great present to receive as well give.

The afternoon tea was delicious with a couple of variations made at our request for the sandwiches. The staff were welcoming & attentive & very helpful. The quality of the food was excellent & it was a lovely way to use a general voucher bought for us at Christmas by our eldest daughter. Thank you to all concerned.

The Cakeaway at Plum Tree Farm is fantastic. Great selection of cakes that are well presented and packaged to go. The portion sizes are generous and every one is delicious. I love the cream slice, but the new Easter-themed cake is a new favourite. We've sampled coffee and cake in the restaurant too, but usually end up with some of the cake being taken home - too good to waste and usually too much to eat in one sitting. A lively place and the staff are always helpful.

My mum and I were very pleased with the whole occasion. She particularly enjoyed the soup and puddings. For me it was the sandwiches and puddings. Thank you for making my mother's time incredibly enjoyable. P.s. the scones were delicious. Thanks from Ann and Andrew (son)

We went to the kingfisher for mothers day the food was amazing and a very good choice.The staff were so lovely and very helpful .Very good choice for drinks .I would like to thank Josh and the team for making our mothers day .I would really recommend x

Went for Mother’s Day. I booked back in January for 8 people. Only 7 ended up going 5 adults & 2 kids. On arrival we were waiting in the bar area as the table wasn’t yet ready. After waiting about 10 minutes we were shown to our table and our drinks order was taken. As my son is non verbal autistic he easily has melt downs when waiting. We asked how long it will take and we were told 20 minutes. About 45 minutes later, the food finally came. Nobody came to ask if the food was ok. To their credit though, when it was highlighted the food was cold, they sorted it with no questions asked (albeit after going to find someone). I went to find someone to ask if a table order of drinks can be taken. They placed the drinks down and left the empties. I had to find someone to come and clear our table and take a dessert order. The table was cleared (after 30 mins of finishing the meal) and the waiter started taking our dessert order. We asked for a few minutes for my mum to come back, then just didn’t come back. Again, I had to find someone to take our order. Eventually we got our desserts which were very good! Except the ice cream was meant to be served with cream and a cherry. It came without either. We sent it back, and out came the ice cream with cream and sprinkles… not what was shown on the menu Overall we were there 3.5 hours. The food was really good, there is no denying that. However, they need to hire additional staff to deal with heavily busy times. It seemed they were overwhelmed at times with the amount of people there. A final bill of £237.75 for really good food, but unfortunately the same can’t be said for the service.

Afternoon tea experience We used a voucher that had been bought for us last Sunday (Mother's Day). The welcome we received along with the friendliness of the servers was brilliant Food was delicious

Afternoon tea was nice but must have asked 5 different members of staff how to get to tearoom and none able to help, when we did eventually find it we wanted to do a tour where woman on till said we were too late (it was before 3pm) anyway she agreed to allow us to do a tour? Tour was decent but was charged full price which as we were having afternoon tea afterwards I’m not sure why and the stairs were covered in scaffolding so I’m not sure why they’re charging people full price anyway. Would be nice to go back in summer and see it in the sun, hopefully staff running a tighter ship by then

Great service and exceptional food

Booked a table on Thursday Evening for 3 people. Booked on line - received an email along with a reminder. Turned up last night and the waiter said that we didn’t have a booking. He did manage to find us a table, stuck at the bottom of the room. Not ideal as the table was booked for a special occasion. Service was ok. Food was good.
