Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangExcellent food and service. There were four of us and everyone was happy with their meal. I had the vegan alternative to the Sunday roast which was delicious. I would definitely return
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangHad a lovely meal out with friends. Fantastic service from the lovely Charlotte and super food. My only complaint would be please bring back Wallings Ice cream. We’ll be back.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangMy meal was delicious, very tasty& hot
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangThis is a no frills pub but the food was excellent, the staff were so helpful and the cost was extremely good in the current climate. Well done. Thank you.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangGreat pub food
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangWe were meeting up with family, from down South, we hadn't seen for over 18 months. We have eaten at the Royal many times and couldn't think of a better place to eat. The food was beautiful I had sea bass the seasonings and flavours were beautiful. My nephew ordered fish and chips with garden Peas, when it came he had mushy Peas. We told him if he is coming living up Noth get used to mushy Peas. Two of our party ordered from the specials, hunters chicken and steak and both said how nice the food was. My husband was disappointed that Gammon has been removed from the menu, he said no one cooks a better Gammon but really enjoyed his hunter chicken. Chris our server was very friendly and helpful. We booked our table for 18:30 it was ready for us, it would of been nice to be shown to the table rather than walking round look for my name on the table (not an issue, just a thought), we were never rushed to leave the table and stayed there all night. It was a really relaxed evening, and didn't how the time had passed at 21:00 we asked for the bill and the prices were really reasonable. Thank you for a wonderful evening and we are planning our return visit.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangNice room and a great food and drinks range. The best staff l have come across for a long time, always pleasant and helpful every time we visit,(around eight times to date.) Any ocassional problem sorted out immediately .Home from home
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangHave been eating at the Royal Oak for over 20 years the food has been good value for money. Since being part of the Country Inns Group, there are several places where you can dine. The Royal Oak was again a good choice. Cheery welcome and shown to our table. The serving staff were polite and pleasant. The menu choices were excellent. Meat, Chicken Fish and Vegetarian. Our order was taken and a couple of questions we raised were quickly answered by the table staff. We had two meals, starter and main. The food was hot, plentiful and was delicious. I would recommend eating again at the Royal Oak. You do need to book as it is very busy, with most tables reserved. Most tables when we dined were occupied by other diners. There is an online booking system which worked well. Our booking was confirmed by email at the time of booking. We received a reminder of our booking, and post our visit we received an opportunity to comment on our visit. Well worth a visit.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangI have visited the Royal Oak many times for a meal I have always found service and food excellent and yesterday's visit was still the same.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangWe visited here for lunch yesterday and we were not disappointed. We will be visiting again. The staff were brilliant and they accommodated my 4year old by taking her order and bringing it out asap. We had my partners dog with us and we chose one of the dog meals which went down a treat. They even had gravy for Dollys ( the dog ) diner. I can highly recommend here. Great portion sizes, we were so full and really tasty food. We came as it had been recommended to my partner. Between us we had the chicken and chips for kids and my little girl wanted both beans and peas, this wasn’t a problem. My partner had the ham, egg and chips, I had the falafel burger which was so tasty. We also had garlic bread and halloumi fries. All was delicious and we didnt need this much due to the portion sizes, but you never know when you try somewhere new. They even did ice cream and a candle as we had just celebrated my partners birthday. Nothing was too much for the staff.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangI've visited The Royal OAK many times and have always enjoyed the food, Service and the pleasant service. Thank you. Jim Clegg
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangI booked a table to meet up with friends for dinner last night. You're always a bit aprehensive when you book somewhere that you've never been before based on reviews. Flipping Nora, we weren't disappointed. I had the special, chicken breast with garstang blue and mushroom sauce. It was a 100% better than the 'other place' we'd been on Tuesday
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangBooked a table for 8 people on Saturday 2/8 Everyone enjoyed their food choices. Staff were friendly and efficient. We picked the 2 mains for £25 (5pm-6pm) which was excellent for money. Would certainly recommend to family & friends if they are in the area.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangWe were given a voucher for this public house. The staff were very attentive and friendly. My friend and I ordered the sea bass only to be informed there was none available, so we chose the plaice. After a few moments the waiter came to our table and informed us there were no boiled potatoes, so reluctantly chose the chips. Our meal arrived and there were far too many soggy vegetables and too many chips. We are pensioners and cannot eat as much as we used to. So our plate was still full of chips.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangThe meal was excellent we had the light bites which is all us pensioners want so we can have a sweet afterwords . cant get better than excellent.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangFood and service was excellent, also as I have coeliac disease it’s nice to go somewhere we’re the understand what gluten free is and cater for this. Lots of options to choose from that are either gluten free or can be made gluten free.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangWe had family visiting from Canada and we decided to take them to our favourite place to eat, The Royal Oak. We all thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday lunch. The food and service were excellent.
