The meal was excellent we had the light bites which is all us pensioners want so we can have a sweet afterwords . cant get better than excellent.

Food and service was excellent, also as I have coeliac disease it’s nice to go somewhere we’re the understand what gluten free is and cater for this. Lots of options to choose from that are either gluten free or can be made gluten free.

We had family visiting from Canada and we decided to take them to our favourite place to eat, The Royal Oak. We all thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday lunch. The food and service were excellent.

We had a super family meal with starters and main courses. Too full to try any desserts, but the coffees and pints were good. Pleasant, helpful staff and comfortable surroundings.

The premises is a little unprepossessing, could maybe benefit from a cosmetic upgrade. BUT don’t let that put you off. The food was truly outstanding. Starters were excellent, black pudding in peppercorn sauce and mushrooms in Stilton. Either could have served as a main course. Possibly the nicest lamb I’ve ever had, my wife really enjoyed her plaice and loved the new potatoes. Our only mistake was in ordering a side of chunky chips. We coudn’t finish them, and so we couldn’t manage puddings. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and we will be back.

Haven’t been for quite some time but based on this experience we would return. Staff were friendly, orders taken in a timely manner and we all enjoyed our food. Pleased to see Light Bites on the menu, too. We were the only table in the dining room but it was a Monday !

Very helpful staff. Lively pub with food food and beer. Comfortable room. The bikes were stored undercover safely.

Visited in the evening for a Sunday lunch. Service was good and staff friendly and helpful. We had booked and were allocated the table at the door of the dining room leaving us sitting in the middle of the room and doorway which was unpleasant. There were plenty of unbooked tables so we moved ourselves to a more discreet and comfortable table. Food was served in a timely manner and portions were large but let down by roasties which were rock hard and burnt and broccoli that was raw which was disappointing. To be fair they exchanged some potatoes when asked. Think we were unlucky as the food is normally spot on.

We visited on Mother’s Day with family and as always,everything was perfect. Three of us had the roast dinner and it was excellent,everything hot and perfectly cooked.The staff are lovely and very attentive,cannot fault it .

Visited Friday teatime. Service was prompt and efficient, food well cooked and very tasty. They were flexible and substituted peppercorn sauce for gravy. The fruit crumble is tasty and large portion. No hesitation recommending based on this experience.

Royal Oak Garstang - convenient car park for customers. Tables well spaced out for privacy of guests. We were dealt with promptly and efficiently by a very friendly waitress. Food arrived quickly and was hot with good portions. Additional gravy asked for was provided without issue. Good selection available on menu. Accommodated request for a small portion Sunday dinner. Will certainly be returning again.

Been before with friends the food was great so wanted to treat the kids, food was still great but my Fish and Chips not a patch on my first Visit, fish was a lot smaller and only a handful of chips.

Brilliant as usual. Great atmosphere superb service and excellent food. Can’t wait for our next visit.

5 of us went for lunch for the first time on a Wednesday and we were not disappointed one bit. Food was amazing and our server Charlotte was simply awesome so friendly, polite and helpful we will certainly return. Great menu and a good choice of beers unlike some of the other pubs in Garstang we visited that day. Nice to see a really good choice of Gluten Free on the menu

A favourite pub to visit for lunch. Varied menu with excellent food. Table service is a plus for me and servers are very pleasant and helpful. Always prepared to be flexible with dishes. Always enjoy the best food and a very happy experience all round.
