Excellent food and excellent service
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangBeen a handful of times now and food is always excellent! Staff really friendly and cost atmosphere. Thank you!
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangBooked a table on New Years Eve for an evening meal and drinks, the food was delicious, great portion size, would recommend the chicken madras and the sticky toffee pudding! Staff are very friendly and attentive.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangGood food, starters/small plates were much larger than many pubs, staff nice and breakfast options were excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangStayed for two nights. We throughly enjoyed our food. Lunch and Dinner were amazing. The staff were super attentive, professional and friendly. The atmosphere as that as you would expect at a country pub very comfortable along with the festive decoration it felt welcoming. Overall a very pleasant time and we can not wait to return. Top marks to all thank you.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangAs usual, excellent quality food and the added bonus of table service for ordering drinks and food. Pleasant, efficient service in a wonderful setting. Successful formula keeps people coming back again and again. Thanks to the chef and all staff.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangHad an excellent meal I had goats cheese and beetroot salad with walnuts, very tasty, another person in our group had a ploughman’s very filling and good selection of ham and cheese etc. 3rd person had vegan nut roast and said it was really tasty, one of the best he had eaten
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangOur first time since new owners. Food average- not what it was. Good service and atmosphere. OK but not special
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangHad a really lovely meal, although it was extremely busy the staff and food was extremely good. Next time we come over we will be definitely staying overnight. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive to ensure we were all comfortable especially when a member of our group had a mobility scooter and we are all pensioners!!! Thankyou for a very special evening for us all we will definitely be back as soon as we all can.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangMy brother and I enjoyed a meal at the Royal Oak last evening: the food arrived in good time and was hot, well presented, tasty and plentiful (I left some of the chicken stir fry as there was just too much for me). We sat in the dining area which was quieter than the main bar area: that suited me well as I have some hearing loss. Staff were friendly and cheerful and the place has a good atmosphere. At no point though did anyone ask us if everything was OK with our meal - it was, so no big deal, but... and similarly as we left no one said goodbye/thank you: these minor niggles certainly won't stop us returning though. Essentially a great local pub!
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangMy wife and I had lunch on Friday 30th November. We had booked online and had email confirmation. When we arrived we had a warm welcome from the barman who advised us to make our way to our table which had been reserved. The waitress came and took our drinks order and returned shortly after to take our food order. My go to meal here is the steak and kidney pie- a tasty crust and full of perfectly cooked meat. Plenty of chips, veg and very tasty gravy. My wife had fish and chips which she also enjoyed. I was too full to have a pudding but my wife had the fruit crumble and custard. It was really tasty but despite a valiant attempt she couldn't finish it. It was an excellent meal and service. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the waitress but she was very friendly and efficient. If you haven't been before I highly recommend a visit - and the steak and kidney pie !!
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangAnother fabulous meal. This time we had roast dinners. Great!
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangA fab evening with great service. Food was superb, plentiful and the menu was wide-ranging.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangHad a lovely late lunch with my husband & elderly parents. The small plates perfect for the older person, my parents don't eat very much & get over faced by big portions. Lovely food & smiling service.
Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangVisited Saturday lunchtime and was already quite busy when we arrived at 12.15. We were seated in the restaurant side and the waitress brought the menus straight away. Our order was taken and the food arrived in about 10 minutes. Well presented and piping hot. The food was delicious. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Royal Oak Hotel – GarstangBeen to the Royal Oak a good few times over the years , on our recent visit , there were four of us , and we all had chips with our meals , and usually your triple cooked chips are lovely, not on this occasion all our chips were undercooked, which was disappointing and spoiled our evening out .
