Lovely food and good value
Wye Valley Catering – ColefordVery nice Sunday roast in an interesting historic pub. Generous portion sizes: a large plate full! The veg were nice and plentiful: sprouts, carrots, roast potatoes and parsnips and a ramekin of yummy cauliflower cheese. All accompanied by a jug of gravy each. Helpful staff. The only criticism is that we found the pub a little chilly in temperature – perhaps as it was a day when the weather started to get colder. Would definitely have Sunday lunch there again.
The Bear Inn – StroudFab roast!
Wye Valley Catering – ColefordJust what you want from a village pub. Enormous portions of food, lots of atmosphere, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier - even taking time to show us a bit of the building's history

Caffe e Vino – TewkesburyBeen going here for a decade. Best food around. Regularly changing menus. Innovative dishes. Freshly cooked food. Family & dog friendly. Reasonable prices. Fantastic service & hospitality.
Wye Valley Catering – ColefordFood was good . Wine was good . Waited ages for the dessert menu which never arrived . I had already asked a waitress for more drinks and water so we decided to pay the bill and leave . Obviously a popular place but I think waitresses should be a bit more proactive
Chester House Hotel – CheltenhamA very good Sunday lunch with individual joints of the different meats brought to the table for the customers to carve themselves. Very generous meat portion size and cooked very well. Sufficient veg, roasters and Yorkshire Puds for everyone. The one thing I would like to see would be some cauliflower cheese, for which I'd happily pay extra for. We all really enjoyed our meal at the Miners.
Wye Valley Catering – ColefordExcellent food would recommend and definitely come again
Wye Valley Catering – ColefordSunday roasts can be notoriously difficult to get 'right' not just in terms of the effort and skills but also that so many people have a different view on what a good Sunday roast is. For context it was 3 of us...my wife, 8yr old daughter and myself. We were pretty hungry and can eat a decent amount if that helps you looking at how much to order. We opted for one beef and one pork. We ordered one extra Yorkshire Pudding. The beef was the end piece and we wondered initially if it might be a bit dry but it wasn't. Our piece wasn't pink but it was tender and not dried out, akin to a slow roast lamb joint. I am not a big fan of pink thinly sliced roasted beef. I like pink beef and rare steak but I am also happy with a slow cooked joint that is tender and juicy even if not pink. This was the latter and the flavour was lovely. The pork was also tender with just the right amount of pork fat for flavour and the skin on the pork cut was salted and crunchy but they also provided crackling which was full on crispy which gave us the best of both worlds as I enjoy crackling but I also like pork skin that is less crispy but still crunchy! The roast potatoes were beautiful, the boiled new potatoes were perfect, and the accompanying vegetables good too. Red cabbage was amazing, and other vegetables not overcooked. Gravy was incredible, full of natural flavour, and yorkshire puddings good too. I started with a Bloody Mary then had a cider, while my wife had a glass of rose. For dessert we just ordered one sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. It was perfect, sweet and gooey but not sickly sweet. The atmosphere was relaxed and full of families enjoying a restful time and the service as ever was excellent so we left a decent tip. And I don't say this to show off, but rather to encourage others as I see some chuck a £1 coin or some loose change for staff, but I feel they deserve more. To be welcoming, smiling, warm, patient and proactively helping customers for a long shift on a super busy day deserves a decent tip. Finally price wise given this is locally sourced meat we felt that the bill was very reasonable. We have paid more in plushly decorated restaurants and been very let down by food and service. All in all very happy and will be booking in again soon.
Wye Valley Catering – ColefordPerfect Sunday lunch for two to celebrate our anniversary. We are not big meat eaters but the lamb shank shared was just right and very tasty. Veg cooked just enough. The roasted tomato soup was the best we’d had for a long time. No room for pudding but maybe next time!
Wye Valley Catering – ColefordOur favourite Sunday roast we don’t live locally and travel 45minutes for the food! Staff always friendly, service is great. And food comes out really quickly and is plentiful.
Wye Valley Catering – ColefordWe had a wonderful Sunday lunch at this lovely pub — the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was attentive from start to finish. We ordered the Butcher’s Block to share, which came with a generous serving of tender beef that melted in the mouth. There were plenty of perfectly roasted potatoes, crisp Yorkshire puddings, and a great selection of vegetables — everything cooked just right. The desserts were absolutely to die for. The chocolate selection was visually stunning and tasted just as incredible — rich, indulgent, and beautifully presented. At £29 for two courses, it felt like excellent value for the quality and experience. A truly satisfying Sunday lunch — we’ll definitely be back!
