31.3.24. The pub has had a lovely makeover and this was their first Sunday after the kitchen update. The service was great and the food was really very good, hot, tasty and cooked just right. Will definitely be returning.

Beautifully done beef ( and plenty of it!) , Yorkshire pudding that melted in the mouth, great selection of roasts and vegetables. Oh, and the best gravy! We failed to eat everything but it was a real treat. Can’t wait to book again.

The only downfall I have on this booking is when seated, we were seated at a very large table to accommodate 4 (6 with two chairs at the end with no leg room), I’ve never had this instance at any other restaurant but they then seated another family, on the same table as us. No one approached us to apologise that they had overbooked and asked if this was suitable, it made the dining experience really awkward and uncomfortable and has put us off attending in the future, after booking in advance and paying a deposit, this was really very badly handled. Overall the staff were lovely, but to not be apologise to or approached was really unacceptable.

In fact, it was agreed by all that it was the best we'd ever had in a restaurant. Keep up the excellent work! Ambience was lovely, and a nice chat by the fire afterwards rounded things off.

Warm atmosphere in the barn, attentive and helpful waitress, nice chilled rose wine, excellent roast dinner. Particularly liked the vegetables and gravy - the rolled breast of turkey while good wasn't excellent. We were too full to have pudding! This cafe is wonderful - we can't praise it highly enough - it deserves all the plaudits it gets. Thank you to a brilliant, talented, innovative chef.
