Having looked at previous reviews we decided to book a ‘Sunday lunch’ during our stay at Lakelands, Flookburgh. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the ‘landlady’ who was chatty and cheerful without being intrusive. Service was on good time during a busy lunch period. The menu offered a wide range of dishes to suit everyones palate. I can highly recommend the battered salt & pepper squid for a starter. Main courses were traditional Sunday lunches of x1 chicken and x1 roast beef served with a selection of vegetables, roast & mash potatoes each being beautifully cooked and presented. Personally I’m not usually a fan of Robinson’s ales but the ‘Dizzy Blonde’ IPA was very palatable and complemented the meal. We would highly recommend the Hope & Anchor if you are in the area.
