Purchase a Spa and afternoon tea offer. Spa was wonderful, food great but service was terrible. They don't seem to do anything logically, eg when bringing food, taking empty plates back. We had to get up and look for menu to order sweets and when it came to pay there was nobody around so had to ask at reception.

I had lunch with friends in the bar area, there were other functions on at the same time, so maybe short staffed. The service was appalling, from waiting for a menu, to taking the order, the wrong soup arrived that I hadn't ordered, I was told they had run out of my order, but no one asked if it was ok to substitute Then had to wait for someone to order coffee, no one around so that we could pay, tried to pay at reception where there were 4 staff, told to go back in the bar area where we waited again, I love the netherwood, it holds special memories, but you need to improve on simple service

Excellent service and our food intolerances catered for at our lunchtime meal yesterday. The gluten and dairy free brownie was excellent.

Fabulous. We will be back!

Excellent Sunday Lunch - sure more families would book if children’s portions were offered as full price for young kids is somewhat of a deterrent!

We had afternoon tea on Saturday, but whilst the food was good, the single member of staff was very busy both running the bar and serving food. It was disappointing to be sat at a small table at the back of the bar behind groups of people on the sofas eating bar food and having drinks. It was very loud in the room, not helped by being under the music speaker. We asked for the music to be turned down, but after an hour, it was turned back up which we took as a signal that we should leave. We won't be back.

All I can say from arriving for the weekend going to the spa and the evening meal the whole experience was wonderful, Afternoon tea perfrect thank you.

Beautiful building with a relaxed atmosphere. The majority of the staff were attentive and friendly. The rooms were of a good size, clean and comfortable. The spa although only small was good and numbers kept low so it wasn’t crowded. The evening meal was very enjoyable with good sized portions. Did not feel rushed at all. Only downside was the breakfast - the hot buffet was cold

The staff were very attentive. We came for Sunday lunch for my mums birthday. The starter options were varied. The vegetable samosa’s with chilli sauce were delicious. The vegetable wellington was so good I could have eaten it again. Not usually something I would choose but will definitely have it again. Portions sizes were great. I would have liked chicken as an option as I don’t eat beef or lamb. Thank god for the vegetable wellington. Dessert selection was delicious

Lovely sunday lunch meal, good size portions, service a relaxed affair. Not trying to rush you like some places.

A lovely two night stay at Netherwood Hotel and Spa. Evening meals were excellent, Goats cheese ravioli starter, although a small portion very enjoyable. Main course of chicken was delicious and very succulent. My husband had the lamb also very tender. Staff were friendly and the service was good, went out of their way to help. Buffet breakfast was good, although a little disappointed that the cooked part of the breakfast was buffet too and not served to the table, so not as hot as it could be but nicely cooked. We enjoyed the Spa too. Definitely will be returning.

We lunched at The Netherwood and enjoyed the beautiful vista over the bay in beautiful 19th century decor. The lunch was gorgeous , made with care and quality ingredients. We will definitely be back when we are in this part of the Lake District.

Food generally lovely good size portions, did have to send my first steak back as over but was lovely 2nd time round. Chicken main was lovely as was the ravioli starter very light. Staff were outstanding. I was a solo guest and not once did I feel odd or neglected, they kept the same window table for me each night . I had a spa treatment which was a scrub by Tanya it was fantastic. Abby, Dennis and Dan were outstanding

The food was great but it took a long time to come and two couples who arrived after us received their food first . I don’t mind that but I think it would have been courteous to let us know that our meal would take longer to prepare . We were informed of this when the meal finally arrived but that was too late .

We stayed here for just one night to go walking with wolves on the predator experience. We got the warmest welcome, felt like we was VIPs :-) they had upgraded our room and couldn't be more friendly. The rooms where emaculate, freshly painted and we felt very comfortable from arriving to leaving. Definitely recommend to anyone. Thank you Hope & Anchor ⚓️
