Our first visit to the bistro and we weren’t disappointed. Great atmosphere, excellent food and a great choice of food. Very friendly staff. We had the French onion soup to start and it was delicious. A super evening and highly recommend.

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe staff were very attentive and friendly but unfortunately The chicken dish I chose which came with a Thai sauce was very dry and actually quite difficult to cut as it was so tough. The Thai sauce was totally underwhelming and sparse. I thought it was very expensive for what it was, not good value for money at all unfortunately.

Most reviews were very good., however … The veggie starter ordered wasn’t available (alternatives were suggested) and the veggie main wasn’t great either. And the prices are steep compared to other venues in the vicinity. After finishing our mains our plates weren’t cleared away and nobody asked if we’d like dessert or coffee. So we paid our bill and left. Not what could be considered excellent service. All in all a mediocre experience and a shame it didn’t match the other reviews.
