The food, service and atmosphere in the bistro are excellent One of the best meals I’ve had in a while and located in the centre of Grasmere so easy access to other bars and accommodation.

Great little place. This was our 2nd visit and again couldn't fault the service or food. Will definitley be back again next time we're in the area.

My cousins and I had a gorgeous meal here last Saturday. The atmosphere was pleasant, the staff friendly and knowledgable about their food and wine. We all enjoyed our meals, altogether a fabulous little restaurant in Grassmere. We would definitely recommend it.

Long story short, being a foodie and being diagnosed as gluten intolerant was really tough. After being served so many poor, half-portion, "adapted" GF meals since, I am constantly on the look-out for GF-friendly restaurants to promote to other GFs. Well, this is certainly the best gluten free meal I have ever had and probably one of the best meals ever too even without considering it was GF. Every element of my beef stroganoff was cooked perfectly, the meat and the veg just melted, and the meal meal portion was very generous. Had scallops to start and they were also gorgeous. Best of 4 meals we had in Grasmere during our stay by far. If you are GF then nothing is too much trouble here, and you will get an amazing meal no matter what. Fab venue and fab wine too.

My partner and I visited on 28th January 2026 and had a most enjoyable evening. Both the food and service were excellent, definitely worth dining here.

We had a really enjoyable meal. The staff were very friendly making a really lovely atmosphere. Starters, mains and dessert were all excellent. Definitely a place to visit when in Grasmere.

There was 9 of us for a meal. I had scallops and garlic bread to start. The sauce with the scallops was beautiful. I had lamb rump for mains and this was lovely. Lots of vegetables on offer. My husband said he would prefer more choice of steak (so he could have a bigger one!). He said his chips were lovely as well as the peppercorn sauce but his steak was more medium well than medium but he didnt mind this. Everyone said they really enjoyed their meal. Service was great even though they were really busy. Drinks were lovely but we only had wine and draft beer. Desserts also great, I had sticky toffee pudding and my husband had cheesecake which he enjoyed. Could not fault it and would highly recommend.

New Years Eve meal for 6 people. Surprised to find we were the only customers and it remained that way for the rest of the night! A cosy restaurant that will filled with our own atmosphere but a shame another table was a no show!!! Food was very good for all. The service was very good also - friendly, efficient and with a sense of humour. The meal was a bit expensive even though this was a regular menu and not an overpriced NYE price!!

A small cosy venue with a beautiful tasty meal to start the Christmas celebrations in Grasmere! Staff very welcoming and attentive! Definitely worth a visit, and we will be back!
