Lovely food , good service

Lovely, atmospheric restaurant in Grasmere serving excellent food at fair prices for The Lakes. Advise booking and definitely a place to visit.

Came to Grasmere in June this year with my mum and ate at the bistro twice in the 3 days we were there. Staff and food were fantastic. Returned this week with my husband for a stay in The Lakes to celebrate his birthday and took him for a meal at the bistro. Again the food and service were faultless. Cannot recommend this place enough. Can’t wait to return to try other dishes!

Had a wonderful dinner at Lewis while spending a few days in lovely Grasmere. Food and service were excellent. Topped off the meal with the best Sticky Toffee Pudding I have ever eaten. Highly recommend this awesome restaurant.

Our 5th visit to Lewis’s restaurant over the past few years and again another excellent meal. Service was very pleasant and friendly throughout the evening. Look forward to visiting again in the near future.

Normally go to The Jumble rooms but decided to change …..definitely not disappointed, food was excellent. Hubby and I had steak and it was melt in the mouth. Will book for next year. Didn’t get rushed out and we ended up literally being the last ones in. Shame it’s not open on a Sunday. But granted you need a rest :)

Found Lewis’ through excellent reviews and decided to have a dinner here with my wife. Food, service, atmosphere and value for money were exceptionally good. Had excellent dishes like: pan fried scallops, sea bass fillet and ice cream combination of several different flavors, all of these were outstanding combination of flavors, erbs etc. Strong warm recommendation for those who want to dine in this lovely restaurant. Reservation highly recommended, as there are limited amount of seats (34 when we were there, according to some reviews only 24), some of our hiking group did not make the reservation and as place was fully booked, had to find another good restaurant. Visiting the beautiful lake district area and having the possibility to enjoy excellent dinner here was an excellent decision.

Had eaten here on a previous holiday so booked in advance of our visit. Once again was not disappointed. Lovely intimate restaurant with friendly service & excellent food. As everything is freshly prepared you need to be a little patient but with a bottle of wine to keep us company this was never a problem. Would certainly recommend.

Came to Grasmere as a couple for a break and found Lewis’ through some research and the reviews. My first couple of choices were sold out (a positive as it summarises the popularity and freshness of the food) We ordered the Pork Belly and the Chicken and they were amazing dishes, nice wine selection and a warm, friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be returning!

We had two vegetarians in our group who ordered the Tofu Stirfry - it was inedible. We were on a walking holiday and had to eat though - I was one of the vegetarians and can honestly say I have never had such a bad meal... The garlic mushroom starter was ordered by a meat-eater and was 'okay'. Our son ordered the chicken nuggets and sadly had a vomiting episode an hour later though there may have been no connection. Service was very good and atmosphere lovely.

Stopped off at Lewis's on our last night, and oh my days, it was amazing. The staff was beyond helpful and accommodating as my partner wanted the vegan curry with meat (typical) and the surf and turf i ordered was heaven on a plate the steak was cooked to perfection the prawns was cooked in a crisp light batter that left a explosion of taste I will definitely return when ever I'm in Grasmere or the surrounding area and I suggest if you're reading this book now and thank Lewis later

Tbh This is the 2nd time we’ve visited the Bistro and we were not disappointed. As I mentioned to the young waiter everything was amazing and we will surely be back.

A lovely mini moon meal! Food and service was perfect. Would definitely return!

My wife is lactose & Gluten free so we booked with in trepidation we needn’t of worried as they were very accommodating and the food was excellent would definitely book again
