We were looking forward to the filet steak but it wasn’t on so quite disappointed. Waited nearly 50mins for some garlic bread as a starter. We arrived at 6:20 for 6:30. The tables were too close together to feel relaxed. The wine and vegetables were lovely and the meat was perfectly acceptable. The desert order was too slow so we had ice cream at home. I think just too many covers at once and not having the advertised choices. Shame. It was fabulous last year.

beautiful meal, i had pitta bread ,chilli jam and feta cheese for starter ,so lovely, the pork belly for main course wow was stunning, i did not want it to end,highly reccomend.

100% recommend - friendly staff, food was delicious - scallops were lovely, melt in the mouth steak and chips, salmon and veg cooked perfectly. We will be back!

Enjoyed a lovely evening meal at Lewis’s bistro last evening. There were some menu choices unavailable but the courses we chose were all tasty and beautifully presented. Particularly loved the Pork Belly. Good service from all team members and a lovely atmosphere. Thoroughly good experience and we will definitely plan a return visit when back in Grasmere!

We looked forward to a return visit to this bistro after our last time in Grasmere around 2 years ago. Unfortunately our expectations were not met. The main disappointment was the French onion soup that we both had for starters, excellent last time at best average this time. My main was ok, the steak, and my wife thought her chicken chasseur was very good. Service was functional.

Atmosphere and service 8 May were fine. French onion soup was inferior and absolutely not prepared in the French method. Sea bass was tasty and well presented with plenty of vegetables.,

Service was helpful and friendly at our late sitting. Food good. Wine superb. A lovely evening.

Great food! We had a curry and the ostrich and enjoyed both very much! The service was friendly and personable. We would definitely recommend this restaurant!

My spouse and I enjoyed our evening dinner- Rump of Lamb and Sea Bass -in a convivial atmosphere, marginally spoiled by a noisy group of six on an adjacent table. The service was friendly and efficient without any delay. The dessert choice was good and we chose Eton Mess / hot Eccles cake with sticky pudding sauce, both were excellent. As for value for money, I felt the proprietors have it spot on and we will visit again I’m sure.

Excellent meal at Lewis’ Bistro. The staff very attentive and friendly, the bistro had a nice relaxed feel even though it was pretty much full. Our meal was excellent, really tasty and decent sized portions. The steak was really good quality and perfectly tender. A lovely experience all round, thank you!

A return to Lewis’s restaurant and did not disappoint. Food was fantastic and the service was excellent. We will return on our next trip
