Goody Blake’s – GrasmereAbsolutely loved this place. Amazing food Amazing service Thank you, we look forward very much to coming back!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFamily enjoyed a lovely meal here. Service warm and friendly, nice feel to restaurant. All greatly enjoyed our food. Pork belly was superb, good portions and flavours brill.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent service and excellent food! Recommend! The only negative is that the restaurant was cold. Another diner commented on this too.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe went to Lewis’s bistro for dinner on the 24th of October. The food was generally good and the portions were a good size, but there was a lack of attention to detail that spoiled it a little - a length of string left on my partner’s pork belly and lots of bristles left on mine. My partner mentioned the string to a member of staff but she was completely disinterested. Wine was overpriced and not particularly well kept but a decent selection. Service was very prompt, too much so in fact, we had finished starter and main within around 45 minutes of sitting down and were asked immediately if we’d like dessert. Had they waited a while longer, we might have fancied something. The other issue we had was that the tables either side of us went while we were eating and, rather than waiting until the section was clear, they started spraying and wiping down the tables while we were finishing off our mains - quite off-putting to be honest, and unnecessary since there no other sittings arrived. Could have been great and hopefully they will take the comments on board!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereHad dinner at Lewis’s on Saturday night, booked a dog friendly table and had an absolutely lovely evening. Food was excellent and a great selection of wines, very well priced. Will definitely visit again.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent food and friendly efficient staff
Goody Blake’s – GrasmereFantastic food and service. The menus was excellent and catered very well for gluten free. Wine was amazing and over all a wonderful meal.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereMy partner’s beef was outstanding and my cod loin was spot on . The stew that came with my meal was slightly dull and while my wok fried prawns were tasty they were not out of this world good. The staff were very good and the atmosphere nice. Tables too close together. All in all a pleasant meal out but rather pricey for what you get
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe had a fabulous meal at Lewis’s last night. It was beautifully cooked, every course was spot on. Atmosphere was warm and friendly. We have eaten there many times before and it was the usual high standard served by really nice staff.

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereGreat food (chef is great at the classics!), fantastic atmosphere, courteous and professional staff
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe visit Grasmere once a year and this was our 5th visit to Lewis’s. Booked online for Wednesday 6:45pm - there was some issue with reminders being sent for reservations I’d never made or had confirmation for but that’s a tech issue, although I was told it was me! The food was as good as on previous visits but there was only one waitress on and she was under a lot of pressure at a busy time. - every table bar 1 was booked. Come 8 o’clock the place was almost empty. Enjoyed my meal - the black pudding starter and pork belly main were delicious but the atmosphere wasn’t the same as on previous visits. It all felt hurried and harassed.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFour of us were celebrating a friend’s birthday on 8 October. The food we had was good but it was disappointing that they had run out of the mushroom starter, roast potatoes and Bakewell tart. We were told this was because it was the end of their week! No opportunity for coffee - we were just presented with the bill. It was all a bit rushed. Suggest Saturday night is avoided.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereI came here with my partner on 13th October, booked at 7pm. We had been staying in Grasmere for a few days' break, and our experience had been a little up and down to this point, but choosing Lewis's for our meal on the last night was the best decision. We found the restaurant welcoming, the service efficient and the food absolutely faultless; I had the Lamb Rack and my partner had the Chicken, both top quality and cooked to perfection. The desserts did not disappoint either, Cheesecake for my partner and Affogato for myself, both heavenly. I have read some reviews which have been critical of both the service (rushed) and the menu choice (somewhat limited), but these smaller establishments can really hit the mark; they have not overwhelmed themselves with dozens of menu dishes that they cannot possibly maintain quality over, and speaking personally, we did not feel rushed at all, the service was attentive and it was also efficient, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. Perhaps this may not be the ideal venue if you like to make the business of eating into a ritual that lasts all evening, but everything felt just right for us. Would definitely choose to eat here on our next visit, and would not hesitate to recommend.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFood was good. Service was very poor I am sure that the people who booked in for the 6-00 sitting thoroughly enjoyed it but I can assure you that the people on the 8-00 sitting did not They are too busy and cannot cope It is obvious when you look at the stressed out staff Please management, just do the 6-00 sitting instead of trying to earn a bit more and spoiling your reputation Also I know it is a thing in the lakes but why do you allow dogs in to a nice restaurant, let them sit in a side room or outside ,not in a room that’s busy where food is being served
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe food, atmosphere and service were impeccable. We will definitely be back next time we visit
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereDelicious dinner with 4 friends. Staff were friendly and service was good. Menu is fairly standard but quality of food was good. Enjoyed our meal.
