My husband had the pork belly which was very good. I ordered the cod loins which was actually just a piece of cod. It was just ok. Ice cream was good.

Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe had an absolutely fabulous meal, couldn’t actually fault anything, food was delicious, atmosphere was lovely and the staff were first class, If we come back to Grasmere we will definitely be booking again - wonderful restaurant - a little gem
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFantastic place to eat the staff were very friendly and helpful the food was amazing quickly served and piping hot and the sweets were also delicious will definitely visit again a real gem of a place not to be missed
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe bistro is quite, unassuming. The food is anything but. Presentation is fine dining and generous to a fault. Taste, in the same league. Try anything on the menu, especially the pork belly wrapped in superb crackling, why have pork if it's not layered with flavour and topped with a crunch ? The Sea Bass fillet has a fine, subtle edge, without losing itself. Great with our fav wine the Argentine Malbec. A serious vino that leaves fruits and a fun burnt toffee on the palate. The menu has so many taste treats. We always share olives as a starter. Doorstep slices of brown and white bread are dipped in oil and balsamic, perfect with plump tasty olives. Service is second to none. A quiet table is always available. We felt looked after, left alone to ponder a menu, fussed over when the food arrives. Value for money ? Fine dining requires skill, economics are matched with a generous bowl, plate, crammed but not over the top and even of it was you would scoff the lot. All in all there's every reason to visit this little gem tucked under the hills surrounding Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe ordered fillet steak and sea bass …. Both absolutely delicious!! Great atmosphere, warm welcome , lovely staff. Great value for money, will definitely be returning soon .
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereHad a lovely meal here last Friday, we booked in advance. Food was great, with great service. Thank you
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereThe food was exceptionally good, the staff worked very hard and were helpful and polite. I would definitley recommend this restaurant to everyone, it was a superb meal after a long walking day.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe ate here again twice last week.Superb as usual.Great service great food.Pork belly was amazing. Top quality all round
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereDined on 1/7/23 with my husband. Ordered scallops and king prawn bao to start, both lovely. For mains we had the Seabass in tandoori butter which was lovely (not too powerful a flavour, it really complimented the fish) and pork belly. Both dishes were lovely. Had cheeseboard for dessert. Service was lovely, atmosphere was lovely, food was brilliant, the little bistro itself was so cute and cosy. Would return. 10/10. Brought our dog and she was welcomed with a biscuit.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFood was good, but not exceptional. Service was fine. The atmosphere was less of a restaurant or Bistro more an upmarket cafe. Too many tables, very noisy and crowded. Price rather high for what it is, £7 for a pint of lager! Not bad but I wouldn’t visit again.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent food Good atmosphere
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe enjoyed a meal here while walking the coast to coast. Nice food and good service although it’s a very crowded restaurant so noisy and tables very close together. I too has given them our dietary requirements but the waitress didn’t know anything about it. I note similar issues with other people. But overall pleasant
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFrom entering the busy restaurant (always a good sign) we were quickly led to our table. Menu was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal with efficient service throughout. Portions were plentiful and presented well. Would revisit on our next visit to Grasmere. Tried a different restaurant each night during our stay and Lewis’s stands out from the rest. Another couple from the same hotel we were staying at tried Lewis’s the following night of our visit and had the same excellent experience. Really could not fault anything, which is a rarity these days. Would recommend to anyone visiting Grasmere to try for themselves, although would advise to book in advance as visitors turned away, as fully booked, while we were there.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLewis’ Bistro gave superb service, a fine menu, perfectly prepared and presented food, pleasing atmosphere—or as my granddaughter would say, good vibe—all for very fitting value. I cannot praise it highly enough. The plate had a commendable array of offerings, and each was beautifully prepared—steak (cooked exactly as we wanted and tender enough to cut with dinner, not steak, knife; terrific onion rings and potatoes, as well as a refreshing salad. We would happily return again and again, were we in this area.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent food, lovely staff, the owners always go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your dining experience, little gem in the heart of Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereGreat food, well priced for the area, which us no mean feat! Three niggles: 1. We explained food intolerance issue for two of us on the booking form but this was totally ignored. Usually this issue is picked up at the point of welcome and discussed but, here, there was nothing. We instead chose items that we thought wouldn't present a problem, only to be faced with the offending foodstuff! At that point we reminded them of the problem. It's a tiring issue to deal with so we don't eat out much as a result and really appreciate staff looking after us. Note to self - continue to be active in making a fuss about the problem on arrival! 2. We had the second dining slot at 8.30. Don't arrive before then as there is NO room to wait with a pre-dinner drink. Nor are early arrivals welcomed! 3. The restaurant is tight on space and you may share your table within breathing distance of your eating neighbours.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereAmazing food, absolutely outstanding. Fabulous service, if a teeny bit slow but it looked a tiny kitchen and it was, not surprisingly, very busy. A little expensive but it is a tourist hotspot so expected. With that in mind it was value for money. Lovely little restaurant So good we went back the following night. Make sure you book in advance as we saw people turned away all the time we were there!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExceptional meal in relaxed surroundings, in the beautiful village of Grasmere.
