We visited here last night and the whole experience was absolutely amazing, we were staying in langdale and booked here having liking the look of the menu, and the food did not disappoint! Can not fault it, the service was ten out of ten all the staff were super friendly and the service was quick, we would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting quality food and a nice quiet friendly atmosphere.

Best rack of lamb my husband had ever had and my steak was really tasty. Waitress was very helpful. Only criticism is that is was so cold inside, especially if you are sat in line with door to toilets, that both myself and the two ladies either side of me had to wear our coats whilst eating.

We prebooked and had the table from 6.15 till 8pm which was plenty enough time. The food was absolutely amazing. We had garlic mushrooms & cheesy garlic bread for starters. For mains the fillet steak and rack of lamb, all of which were cooked to perfection. Portion sizes were fab and the staff were very friendly and attentative in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended and we will 100% be back again!

Lovely restaurant in the heart of Grasmere. Warm friendly atmosphere, service and food first class. We had the garlic mushrooms followed by the chicken supreme. Beautifully presented and very tasty. Had a lovely evening and highly recommend.

Beautiful food (fillet steak was great!), reasonably priced wine and lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Waitress was charming, despite being understaffed. Well done Lewis's!

Food excellent if not slightly pricy. When we were there, the premises were somewhat cold even though we were not near the door. Took quite a while for the desert menu to be brought to us then we were rushed off the table; (bill being given to us before we had finished desert) as there was another later booking waiting we were told. Not our fault that the staff took a while to offer the desert menu. No time for coffees afterwards.

Very friendly staff. Food of good quality but menu overall was uninspiring. Restaurant far too cold. Staff observed dithering & diners wrapping themselves in scarves & throws. Radiator lukewarm & inadequate. Mentioned the temperature to a member of staff who agreed that it was cold & that a lot of people complained about it.

We had not been to Lewis's for 18 months but it is still as excellent as ever. The food is consistently delicious and the service is always great. Amanda is always welcoming and runs a tight ship. For as long we keep coming back to Grasmere we will always come back to Lewis's.

We had a really friendly welcome and the wines by the glass were exceptionally good. My wife had olives and bread to start an absolutely massive portion! I had the scallops which were absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked with as really amazing depth of flavour in the sauce. From there it went downhill, my wife had the prawns as a main - a small portion served in a couple of lettuce leaves with sweet chilli sauce which did not taste homemade, I had the lamb chops , they had far too much fat on which was not properly rendered and not very tender. The accompanying gereen beans were tough and the turned carrots did not cross the boundary between under cooked and al dente The ‘buttery’ Chateau potatoes ‘was a single pale offering not cooked through and showing no t an inkling of a crisp golden buttery coat. if a menu specified ‘Chateau potatoes’ that is what should be on the plate. The red wine and mint jus was slimy and unpleasant. I commented to the charming waitress that the dish was not how I would have cooked or presented it, so I’m somewhat surprised to be asked for a review ! We did not attempt the deserts,
