Booked for something to eat before a concert. Was surprised there were only the sharing boards to choose from but o boy was it good. We had the meat sharing platter and you could tell it was homemade. We throughly enjoyed it. Compliments to the chef and to the girls that served on. We’ll definitely be back.

A few of us called in on Saturday, sat outside, had a few drinks, cocktails and a selection of cakes. Had a great chat with the owners. All in all an excellent couple of hours was had by all, will be back to try more from the food menu.

Had lunch today, it was lovley I had the chicken club sandwich and a berry go round smoothie. It was Very tasty. Very happy. Thankyou

Really lovely lunch out in the September sun under the old tree. Peaceful and calm with my superior smoked salmon open sandwich. Love an old historic pub

Had to get our money back and leave never actually experienced service like it quite shocked such treatment still goes on so publicly this day and age!! The waitress annette was blatently racist and even if she wants to argue that point last i checked even in the street i shouldnt be subject to a middle aged woman shouting abuse at me especially with my son there and my baby in my arms..never mind the fact id spent nearly £25 already..and the manager didn't even feel the need to apologise properly or reprimand her when she chose to start shouting in my face ...utterly disgusted with this treatment as i say there was no apology and i have seen in the last week her name mentiond and praised in numerous posts reviewing the restaurant especially on fb...do not be fooled! The only form of back tracking involved in the whole experience was when this middle aged woman ANETTER who is paid for her customer service skills shouted down the restaraunt at me that shes 'not bloody racist her niece is black' manager simply apologised for the fact we werent staying as opposed to the vermin he had working for him...do not be fooled by cheap prices etc it is not worth the ignorance!!

When did this happen? I went last night, expensive-not much choice and 4 of us did not pay as food tasted horrid

Everything is made fresh in the morning. The food is delicious. Trust me, I have eaten here many a time and my ex worked here. You have the Turkish eye (a good look symbol), pictures of Turkey, Turkish staff. All polite and on the ball. Extremely clean restaurant. Tables spot on, decorated and wiped clean, the bathroom is spot on.

Called for a fish last saturday 29/8/15, it was some 48 years since my last visit. Oh what joy, faces changed but the quality was just the same as I remember. Should have had fish in a bag then I could have drank the vinegar like in the good old days. Many Thanks.

Short and sweet it's the best I've had try the jaflongee chicken trust me u can't beat it!

The food is amazing, all home cooked. The staff very friendly and the ladylady brill. Definitely go again, very recommended x

Superb food at the stumps. Every time we go it gets better and better. Alway busy and the staff are excellent too. We'll worth a visit if you are in the area.

Superb every time,,,,they never let me down. Portions are good ,food is great and you can always ask for more in fact landlady said 'its like all you can eat here don't you leave till your full,,,'nothing is to much trouble for that woman it's a refreshing change to go somewhere and she really cares ,this reflects on everyone that works for her too,,,,well done girl keep up the good work

I have been to The Design House quite a few times and think the food and service are excellent. I would highly recommend it and am looking forward to going back very soon. I think it's the best in Halifax. We are very lucky.
