Always good food here. Also they cater for celiac’s, as my wife and daughter need gluten free options. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Good size car park, and tables both in the bar and restaurant area.

The Half Moon – PetersfieldExcellent food with something to suit everyone. Allergens clearly marked. Plates taken away quickly and staff were lovely and helpful.
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthEnjoyed the wide variety of food but disappointed that there was no lobster and the only other fish was a rather bland salmon dish. Some background music may enhance the atmosphere

The Half Moon – PetersfieldSuperb! Excellent service and food was amazing.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldFriendly and excellent service, well cooked and tasty food and we could sit outside. An enjoyable and relaxed Friday lunch.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldFirst time visiting this place. We have tried many buffets around ie Cosmos, JRC, DAYS etc. We arrived at 17:00 there was a big queue mainly be because payment is collected before you enter. This was the most expensive plays among the other places we have been as children greater than 3 pay half price. I think it should be less. There is no refillable place for water so you need to keep going back to the bar for a small cup of water each time which is annoying. They should have jugs for a table. There is a lot of food variety and the meals are tasty so that’s a big plus. Dessert doesn’t have many options which was disappointing. Overall for my ratings over 10 Food 8/10 Dessert 5/10 Drinks 6/10 cheap version of coke Cost - a bit too expensive Overall 6.5 Need to address the water situation
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthThe Cider and Sausage Festival was worth going to, the Trio of Sausages meal was very nice, with a good choice of sausages offered
The Platform Tavern – SouthamptonGreeted by a smiley man on reception and another upon entering the restaurant. Atmosphere was like a hotel restaurant in an all inclusive hotel in Turkey or so. Large selection of foods to suit everyone, chicken I felt was overcooked and vegetables were very soggy. The sushi was perfect and the dim sum. Cheap brand coke, lemonade etc but was fine. Staff cleaned away any plates and mess very quickly. We will go back again sometime but will perhaps try a different Chinese buffet first.
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthLoved our visit. 3 completely different diners who had 3 completely different meals all delish, generous servings and all cooked really well. Though sadly just a little full to try the puddings. Next visit.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe had the Sunday Roast beef and lamb . The wait time was short even though they were fairly busy .Generous portions and well cooked . Very affordable prices. Staff were friendly and polite . Lovely atmosphere in the very large restaurant area . The gardens here are beautiful. Will definitely book again even though it is a little way from home .
The Half Moon – PetersfieldIt was August bank holiday Sunday and had managed to secure a table for 6 only 24 hours before. We know this pub quite well but had only eaten there occasionally. The pub was clearly very busy indeed, but they have 3 clearly different areas, and somehow the whole 'show' was managed with friendliness, efficiency, speed and a very tasty Sunday roast - the menu covered all tastes - moules went down very well, too. Can thoroughly recommend the Caramel Apple Crumble Pie - with custard!! A very pleasant experience all round. Many thanks to everyone
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonFantastic service, come here very often with family, friends, etc. So many varieties of choices family friendly and all age appropriate perfect for picky eaters as there will definitely be things you enjoy. Very cultural food choices and the staff are polite, well mannered and welcoming and overall the experience is brilliant will be coming again and again. Really recommend.
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthI don't often write reviews but I'm happy to leave a review for The Chequers. I was there with a group of 6 (plus dog) on a dreary summer Saturday last month. We booked ahead - which wasn't necessary on this occasion because of the late afternoon slot and uninviting weather - and received a warm welcome from the staff. We didn't have to wait long for our order and the food turned out to be terrific. My rack of lamb was excellent. Portions were generous but not overindulgent. While the prices might be slightly above average, the food is considerably better than the usual pub fare. I'd happily recommend for a superior gastropub experience.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonGreat selection of food at a very reasonable price. Got our weekend off to a fabulous start!
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthWent for Birthday meal with family of 8 food was lovely and plenty of it As was not busy we stayed longer than 1.5 hour which was nice . Waiters a bit too quick to take plates as twice they took my husbands plate without him finishing when only went to bar !! Downside a glass of small wine £5 and other drinks expensive but will come again and avoid bar
Spoon World Buffet and Bar – PortsmouthThe pub was recommended to us and we were not disappointed great food staff very friendly we will definitely be back again.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonSo enjoyed a meal celebrating a friends birthday yesterday. Such a lovely pub. Tables spaced well so you didn’t need to hear everyone else’s conversations. The food was perfect, the service was both perfect and charming. Didn’t feel rushed but food was served in a timely fashion. Will be going again very soon.
