Booked at late notice before going to see the lion king at the mayflower. I was worried about what kind of place it was going to be but was blown away when I walked through the door. It’s clean, well-decorated and the staff were really helpful and a good laugh. The service was really quick too - about 10/15 minutes from ordering to eating. I had a house burger and the meat was perfect. I cannot recommend this place enough and I plan to go back the next time I’m in southampton.

Food was great, but service was really slow! One waitress serving 6 tables. Mains came when finished starters still on table, as nobody to clear plates Then no one cleared mains from table for 45 mins. We had to go for table to be cleared and for more drinks and desert menu at bar. Need more servers. Only other comment is plastic wired chairs are really uncomfortable too!!!

Visited pre theatre. Chair was uncomfortable and they offered me a cushion. Service was great and the waiter was friendly. Food very tasty, great fish and chips. Would definitely go again when visiting the Mayflower theatre in Southampton. If going to a show get there early as gets very busy and then the service slows down.

Food was lovely but carbonara portion size was a little on the small size. Fish and chips were lovely and my daughter enjoyed her pizza. Service and times were fine.

Pre theatre meal. Quick service, lovely food. Plenty of staff, very attentive and friendly. Good location for the theatre. We would happily go again

Fab night as always. Great service and gorgeous cocktails. Only one gripe that the music is too loud especially if ur under the speaker xx

Had great meal, such a large portion which was delicious. Mussels with bread. Carbonara was very tasty. Would definitely recommend.

We took two friends for Sunday lunch this was a first visit and very impressed. Super lunch very good staff we will be back. Regards Mike Dorsett

Great traditional pub lovely staff tasty beer and a good selection. Food is wonderful at affordable prices. Great atmosphere please don’t change anything.

Service was slow. Even though staff asked if we were attending the show and we said yes. Still waited 45 mins for our food. I had ordered chicken as an extra with my carbonara. There was no chicken in my meal when it arrived and the garlic bread was hard. When handed the dessert menu 20mins passed before waitress came back to take order. By that time it was too late as we had to leave for show.

Great proper pub,serving proper pub grub by a great team in a great location

Despite the pub hosting a baby shower and 90th birthday party simultaneously, my party of 3 were made to feel very welcome and the service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The food was excellent

Food OK ish...Had to sit in a cold tent adjoining the pub for a late evening meal..tent was not heated ( it is Autumn) and we paid just under £45 for 2 cod and chips, a glass of Chardonnay and a pint of lager.

For as long as we, my team have been doing the Southampton Boat Show we have been to the Platform Tavern and have nothing to complain about. Try it
