The Rising Moon – HydeLovely birthday meal for four of us. Great food and service and great VFM.
The Rising Moon – HydeI attended rising moon on Sunday 2nd November with my partner and 2 children as we have done on many a Sunday, we arrived on time and were promptly seated, the staff were very polite and attentive and our starters arrived in good time and were enjoyed by all. The main courses were chosen and I personally chose the braised beef with onion gravy, mash potatoes and vegetables., "now,.. I have ordered this meal on a number of occasions and I have always enjoyed it, the beef has always been tender and juicy and needed very little manipulation to separate it, but on this occasion the beef appeared to look okay on the surface but as soon as I tried to stick my fork in it, it was solid and when I removed the gravy from it and flipped it over the underside of it was almost black from where it had been clearly stuck to whatever it was cooked in, so the waiter suddenly appeared and very politely asked if everything was okay to which I replied no it wasn't and explained that the beef was burnt solid, he examined my plate and immediately concurred and removed my plate to take back to the chef,... the waiter returned and said the chef agreed and that I wouldn't be charged for it (surprise) I was then offered a free drink and asked if I wanted to order anything else, but by this time everyone else was almost finished, and to be honest I just wanted to leave by then. Now, I in no way insinuate that the waiting staff were anything other than courteous, professional and apologetic, I am however a little bit dismayed as to why my meal left that kitchen when the chef must have known that that beef was burnt and if that is the case then he can not consider himself to be a professional chef and should try getting a job on a burger van because a chef's main priority after hygiene is to make sure the meal is well presented and fit to eat. So rant over, and like I said been to this venue many times and ordered this very meal many times and it's always been spot on,and everyone else enjoyed theirs, but for me it was my first and last bad experience.
The Rising Moon – HydeHad a lovely lunch here on Friday. The food is always deliciously wholesome and plentiful and the service spot on.
The Rising Moon – HydeWe had a really lovely meal yesterday at the Rising Moon, really hot food and plate, great attentive service at a great price. We had large fish, chips and peas, a drink and coffee for just over £20. The restaurant was warm and bright and very welcoming.
The Rising Moon – HydeLovely food Great service, really enjoyed it, Thank you
The Rising Moon – HydeWell, you did it again. Fantastic meals. Good portions & very reasonable prices. I did a review over a year ago last time we were over from Australia & it was just as good. My mother in law cant eat as much so had a Light bite Pork meal. Many places I have visited this would be a normal mains. Adam who served us was great. Took time to talk about the food & drinks we ordered. I booked on line & got a confermation as well the morning of the meal. I like the decore & enough space between tables so its not too noisy either. My favourite place to go. Thank you & hope to be back early next year
The Rising Moon – HydeI am a regular visitor to the Rising Moon, all the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and professional. The food is always delicious with huge portions and served with a smile. I couldn’t recommend this establishment enough for any occasion or just a spot of lunch or a cheeky drink.
The Rising Moon – Hydeamazing food Staff and price
The Rising Moon – Hyde4 out of our 5 meals were nice, if you order the steak and ale pie it would be better if the gravy was separate in a jug due to my friend not liking gravy but it was already poored all over the pie. I ordered hallumi burger which was four sticks if hallumi and not a burger, two of which were well done and two were pale one small slice if lettuce and one small thin slice of tomatoe all in all didn't look very appealing at all, so sent it back it certainly was not worth £14.95.
The Rising Moon – HydeWe visited The Rising Moon on Sunday for dinner. The service was fantastic by all the waitresses and the food was amazing.
The Rising Moon – HydeLovely food and service
The Rising Moon – HydeOur first visit after seeing it rated number 1 on Trip Advisor which was well deserved as our Sunday lunches were all delicious & big portion sizes. Nice decor + friendly staff too so we will certainly be back soon.
The Rising Moon – HydeLovely meal & atmosphere. The waiter was lovely, didn’t catch his name, he was Scottish. Food was delicious & we weren’t rushed.
