Raj Bari – HytheAs a party of five we attended the Tickled Trout Ashford on Monday 11th July for my Father-in-Laws lunch to which we paid in excess of £72. At the end of the meal my wife informed me she could not move in her chair, her trousers were snagged on the timber which had split leaving a sizeable hole. I brought it to the attention of a female member of staff who reported it. When questioned she informed me she was told to put the chair on the bonfire. I was appalled that the Manager did not attend or even show any sign of interest which I conclude is very poor customer service and concern that the timber had not caused her any injury. We now have to throw away her £35 pair of trousers and this service will not be recommended by us.
The Tickled Trout Public House – AshfordWe experienced extremely poor customer service having had a pair of trousers torn on a defective chair, I would not recommend the Tickled Trout, Ashford for Customer Service but the food was very good.
The Tickled Trout Public House – AshfordLovely 'pub-grub'. Convenient location with easy parking- although usually quite busy. Good atmosphere and reasonably priced food, excellent quality and friendly service... couldn't ask much more!
Running Horse Harvester – MaidstoneWent for lunch at Lujon yesterday (9/7/11) with 3 friends. First visit and was really impressed. We all had the set menu which was very reasonably priced at £16.95 for 3 courses. The surroundings are extremely smart and modern but not too stuffy, atmosphere good. We were given fresh home made onion bread and walnut bread (still warm!) and it was divine. I had the pea veloute with truffle oil to start and it was the most refreshing light soup I had ever tasted it was delicious. To follow I had rabbit slow cooked and it melted in the mouth and again was really tasty. My friends had plaice and chicken and they also said how great it was. This was followed by dessert, I chose the Kentish blue cheese with home made biscuit, my companions had the chocolate mousse which they raved about. This was all washed down with the house rose which again was excellent value. The waiters/waitresses were very attentive without being intrusive. We were so impressed we have booked a table for 16 to have our Christmas meal together
Lujon – BromleyExcellent food, great welcome - highly recommended
The Dolphin Inn – CanterburyThis pub is a hidden gem. The staff are friendly and make you really welcome and the food is delicious. I am surprised it hasn't been written about on the Sugarvine website before. Must try. You will be pleasantly surprised.
The Red Lion – FavershamWent to Canterbury last September and found this charming pub and had lunch. My husband ordered a chicken pie that he is still raving about to this day and I had the ploughman's lunch which was excellent. Would recommend this pub highly. would appreciate it if I could get the recipe for that chicken pie with that wonderful flaky crust.
The Old Buttermarket – CanterburyThere are several Indian restaurants in the area but this one stands out because of the quality of its food and the level of its service. The staff do all in their power to make your dining experience a pleasurable one. And when you taste the food you can are left in no doubt that this restaurant is the jewel in the crown. You would have to go a long way to get such quality and service for the price you pay: maybe all the way back to India!
