The main course portions are ridiculously huge -we found it off-putting. PLEASE reduce portion sizes and prices OR offer alternative small portions. So much food wasted on finished plates.

Excellent as usual

We had our lunch here as a treat for my husband's birthday and the food was some of the best we've ever had. Absolutely beautiful. And they came out at the end with a sparkler candle in his dessert. The 2 staff that served us were lovely young people. A credit to their parents. Would definitely recommend.

Great visit as always. Food was excellent, brought out on time and nice and hot. Staff are lovely and friendly and don’t hover when you are trying to eat. I would highly recommend for a lovely meal in a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Saturday lunch for two. Great food, varied menu, lovely staff, and very good value for money.

Booked Sunday Lunch at the Lunesdale Arms for my Birthday on 5th July. We were looking forward to the roast beef. I started with the Spanish Hash which was very enjoyable. The main course arrived and looked great, however, the roast beef was very tough, and for me was lacking in flavour with the fatty edges not rendered down. my partner complained to the head waiter (I think) he offered her a 'sharp knife' which she turned down, they then offered to change her meal to chicken which she accepted. However, I had finished my meal before her replacement dinner arrived. On the positive side, all the veg. roast potatoes & Yorkshire pudding were very good. We decided to have a desert we were given a menu but nobody returned to take our order having waited 15 min. or more, so we paid the bill and left.

The service was extremely slow although they did apologise. As we were seated another couple were leaving as they hadn’t been served so there was obviously a problem The food when it came was very much below par to the extent that my husband couldn’t eat his he said it tasted like it had been cooked once then reheated and was inedible. The meal was made even more unpleasant by the very loud group on a neighbouring table We decided to skip dessert and go home. As we have previously had good meals here and it was a special occasion we were very disappointed

Enjoyed the salads we had as they were just the meals for the present hot weather. They were very filling and extremely tasty. The service was very good and the food very well priced for the quality.

Booking was easy online. When we arrived with our dog we where show to our table in the bar by a polite young lady. The service from the staff throughout our dinning experience was excellent. The food was excellent and very tasty. Highly recommended and would definitely return if in the area.

Excellent venue for meeting friends,

We ate at the Lunesdale Arms recently and really enjoyed our meal, which was well cooked and very nicely presented. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the restaurant was spotlessly clean. We couldn’t understand why the place was so quiet, although more people arrived before we left. Perhaps wider advertising would bring in more people?

A lovely inn, serving delicious food. My rhubarb and ginger gin was made all the more special with a sprinkling of freeze dried raspberries.
