Lovely village pub, the staff were fantastic the food was great and value for money had some excellent beers good outdoor space would recommend a visit

This is the 2nd time that myself and a group of friends have visited in the past couple of months. The food, hospitality and service has been excellent. We attended on quiz night and it was a great laugh. We are planning our next visit. Would highly recommend.

Where do I start? I've been a regular to the Dog Inn , but what a difference. From 3 months ago. Just WOW I came for lunch with my 11 year old during the school summer holiday. Service 10/10 from the minute we walked in to the getting back in the car. We were looked after without being intruded upon, checked on for drink refills, food orders and food satisfaction, lovely, friendly and professional front of house and waiting on staff, little extras that make a difference from pub grub lunch to lunch at a destination . The customers varied from ladies who lunch, to friends getting together, couples taking time out, to mother and daughter quality time. Food 10/10 She ordered the chicken tenders with chips but didn't want vegetables. She was offered salad , she opted for, without tomatoes which was accommodated with no fuss. The chicken, was real chicken non of your cheap reformed rubbish. Considering that Kids Eat for Free during summer holidays, that's brilliant, tbh even at £6.00 it's a brilliant price, cheaper than a fast food outlet and so much better quality and nutritional value. I had the salad from the socials board, although my personal opinion is that it should make the regular menu. Chargrilled peach with burrata cheese. The flavours, textures, presentation, portion size, just delicious, I could happily eat this every day. Daughter wanted ice cream, this came with added strawberries and was 2 generous scoops. Even the chefs checked we were happy when I paid the bill. Including drinks this came in at around £25 which I think is extremely good value for money. Atmosphere 10/10 Music quietly playing in the background, chatter and laughter, the clink of glasses and the gentle chink of cutlery being placed back on a now empty plate. Friendly, welcoming, unobtrusive and a view to sit back and gaze at.

We have always enjoyed and will continue to enjoy the traders. Staff are always attentive and friendly and service is always with a smile. However our meal last night was barely warm when it arrived, we didn’t kick up a fuss and ate it, if this had been our first visit then it would have put me off returning. I suppose even the best can’t get 10/10 every time.

We visit the Traders Arms regularly as we live close by. It is a wonderful pub with a great atmosphere and my husband thinks it is the best serve of Thwaites Original beer anywhere! We visited yesterday for Sunday lunch and it was absolute fantastic! Beef was cooked perfectly and had all the trimmings, delicious. Fantastic value The Traders is a brilliant pub and would recommend anyone looking for a traditional pub with a friendly atmosphere and wonderful food to give it a try 10/10!

Delighted with our meal at The Dog. Great food at a reasonable price. We at outside overlooking Darwen Tower and the views were suprtb. The highlight of our visit was the young lady who served us! She was brilliant: kind, helpful, efficient and friendlt. A real jewel in the crown. Best wishes JIM

We had a lovely meal today. All food of excellent quality. Atmosphere lovely and they managed to keep it cool. Everywhere clean including the facilities Staff all very pleasant and obliging.

We all had excellent meals. Mark the chef is brilliant. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. The views are amazing. We’re back on Friday for chippy tea!!

Gorgeous food and a truly warm welcome for 3 soggy campers and their big dog. Fish and chips were lovely, as were the cheese pie, burgers and excellent pint of bitter. Friendly staff and locals and a real cosy atmosphere. Thanks for your hospitality.

Been to the Dog inn a few times now food and service excellent staff friendly and made you feel comfortable will be going again and would recommend to anyone.

Its been a while since we last ate here, and weren't disappointed. Good value lunch menu and the service is excellent. Its usually a bit of a wait for the food, but its all cooked fresh so worth the wait.

We had dinner on Thursday evening. Didn’t realise it was steak night. What a revelation! The steaks were superb and the sides were perfectly cooked. We will definitely visit again.

As always our meal at the Traders was lovely. The pub was vibrant and very welcoming. The girl who took our order was training so had the manager shadowing her, what a lovely polite girl she was.
