Bread and Butter – Preston
Preston in Lancashire is a cosmopolitan city located on the River Ribble and is also the home of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). Many restaurants and food pubs can be found in the city centre and its suburbs.
We visited for brunch, the small breakfast was great value. Staff were extremely polite and helpful.

The Plough At Eaves – PrestonFaultless! Absolutely superb Sunday dinner! The beef just fell apart and melted in my mouth!
Bread and Butter – PrestonWent for Sunday lunch. Great choice of dishes, huge portions and hot, delicious food. Lovely staff and a beautiful building. Great value for money. A couple of dishes took a little bit longer than the Sunday lunches, but this didn’t affect our enjoyment at all.
The Plough At Eaves – PrestonLovely food and good service. A nice place for brunch and lunch. Have visited a number if times and not been disappointed.
Bread and Butter – PrestonThis was our first, but not the last visit to Bread and Butter. I'm not sure why I booked but was very glad I did because it was packed. Probably a reflection of the excellent food. However this contributed to one of my two niggles. It was very noisy consequently it was difficult to talk. My other niggle was the cost of the bottle of Coke which at £4 ish was pretty dreadful. But that's it. Food great, want to try more dishes, and the waitresses were brilliant. Friendly and efficient despite the very busy workload. We definitely plan to go back.
Bread and Butter – PrestonExcellent breakfast . Very generous portion . Delicious as always. Thank you .
Bread and Butter – PrestonWe went for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. They had a good selection of real ales which is always a bonus. Staff are very friendly and attentive, we would definitely go back.
The Plough At Eaves – PrestonGreat lunch with a group of 8, all food served hot looked and tasted great. Friendly service. This is my second visit and both have been brilliant . Highly recommend

The Plough At Eaves – PrestonVisited The Plough again on Sunday 18/01/26 with family, this place really is a hidden gem and worth shouting about, the food is absolutely spot on.
The Plough At Eaves – PrestonDuring 2025 we visited the restaurant several times, each visit was satisfactory and for a pub very nice. January 2026, I am sorry and I don't know what is going on. Staff as always very friendly. Food average steak's over cooked, only expensive wines available most out of stock. Sadly no heating on, very cold! Look at the reviews for Christmas 2025 and make your own decisions.
The Plough At Eaves – PrestonWe were a party of 4 adults for a meal on Saturday evening. We were seated in the bar area which was busy and had a cosy feel. We all enjoyed a different main course, each was tasty and there was more than enough. The staff were all helpful and polite. Thank you, we'll definitely be back!
