We came across the pub by chance on a Sunday.They had a Sunday lunch menu as well as a la carte.Choice was excellent & no course disappointed.from seafood or black pudding with belly pork starter. With mains of roast beef or pork both satisfying the taste buds. A good range in the sweet department which should make everyone happy.And if wine is your tipple you cant go wrong with their selection. Take some friends,we will definitely be going back.

Called in recently for Sunday lunch. 1st time of visiting this establishment and found the mixture of old world pub charm and excellent restaurant cuisine amazing. Staff were very friendly and the food delicious.

We originally found Amico Mio on Sugarvine.com and have visited many times now, but most recently went on Friday night, and as always was very busy, with the usual romantic atmosphere, a guitarist playing in the background and the staff very attentive, and also had a chilled bottle of Rose waiting at my table on arrival made this a special birthday for my wife. The food doesn’t really need a mention as it was as spectacular as ever, this is far from your usual “authentic” Italian restaurant. If you’re looking for a nice calming romantic meal or a lively fun evening with family and friends then Amico Mio is the place for you. Keep up the good work.........Brillante, Bravo

Went to the Clog and Billycock for lunch today. I have been there before and have previously enjoyed the food. However, they have now changed the menu for Sunday and the choice is now slightly limited. I understand that on Sunday the chefs have more to contend with now they make a Sunday lunch but the choice is now disappointing. My partner was looking forward to pork which was on their website as the main for Sunday lunch. On viewing the menu we found it was actually lamb and they had not updated their website correctly. He eventually chose the hotpot which was a bit soupy. As a vegetarian I looked at the menu and wanted to walk out-I wish I had now. The choice was a massive cheese and onion pie that would serve 4 people but is meant to serve 1 person or a summer vegetable salad. Having eaten my breakfast quite late I opted for the salad. The salad was average with a few chunks of cheese, a few pieces of fennel, courgette and red onion with some cherry tomatoes and masses of salad leaves with dressing which basically just tasted like greenery and would have cost about £5 in any other restaurant instead of the £8.95 I paid. It would be nice to have a couple more options like the grilled mushroom they used to do at their sister pub 'the three fishes' and the fritters they do from Mon to Sat. It's fair to say I will no be going back as I feel I could have made better at home.

Today is my first time out to CLITHEROE with my family on a DAY TRIP tour to the Dales and we had a meal at the CALF`S HEAD. I have to say the wide range of menus and the generous portion of food was very good. The food was fresh and the presentation was good.The staffs were friendly and helpful and they worked their socks off. I would highly recommend this pub to my friends . Keep up with the good standard

Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic service, friendly staff, absolutely out of this world food. Would highly recommend. Only thing that lets it down, are the toilets. Well the ladies anyway, I haven't been in the mens :) They are grotty and tired. But that is nothing to do with the food and service. Second to none.

4 of us went to east z east on a saturday night. very busy when we arrived 2 large parties in, we were shown straight to our table, drinks order taken straight away. our poppadoms/ starters were delivered swiftly and were delicious and it all looked very promising. However the mains were disappointing, bland, tasteless, the naan breads were very dry. Plus poorly presented. The service was slightly over the top too. We must have been asked at least 3 times by different waiters during each course if the food was ok , and it got a little annoying to be disturbed so many times when you are trying to eat. Once we had finished our food we planned to sit at our table a little longer to finish the bottle of wine. we were asked to go through to the bar to free up the table. fair enough we thought they were busy, but it was now after 10pm. 20 minutes later i had to walk back through the restaurant to the toilet only to find at least 10 empty tables so was struggling to understand why we had been moved back to the bar so quickly? I have heard good reviews about this place so am disappointed it didn't live up to them. I will probably stick to the Indian nearer home instead.

8 out of 10/ Service good, a little slow, took ten minutes to take order, chips frozen but ok, steak cooked beautifully and sauce good , garlic bread and tomato was extra special - tomatoes roasted for the topping taking away the sometimes over "tomatoey" taste so to speak , price reasonable and quite nice surroundings , one down side very poor seating / old chairs some of the high back faux leather seats would take this from pub to restaurant and add a little panache to this nice little eatery.

Rubbish service don't ask to see the chef he wasn't in ????????

After a day walking in the Trough we enjoyed a nice meal in here. The service was extremely professional, which was a surprise for a country pub. We were also allowed to take our dog in too.

Did a walk that started and finished at this pub. We popped in for a great pint afterwards. Will definitely return to this beautiful spot for a meal.

I went here on Wednesday night to celebrate my birthday. The place itself is very impressive & the service is excellent. I know Gordon Ramsay recently voted it the best Chinese 2010 & to be totally honest I expected a lot more. We all ordered our food, i requested the wagu beef (which they didn't have, but did inform us that from the Friday coming it will be on the menu. for that reason i will be returning) The cocktail menu looked very good even though we did all opt for a bottle of the chablis. For starters me and my Boyfriend had the Hors d'oeuvre which were very tasty. My Parents had the Scallops which also looked nice. For the Mains I had the Fillet Steak Cantonese Style, this was superb (well worth a try). My boyfriend had the Chicken and Cashew Nuts & from what he said it sounded excellent. Before I even arrived at the restaurant I knew what I wanted for dessert, the Strawberry Samosas & unfortunately they didn't match the expectations that I had for them ( this doesn't mean they weren't nice because they were, but they weren't what I expected. ) My overall View for this restaurant is go and try it. The food is good the service is excellent & then restaurant itself is stunning. Thankyou

I have visited the Freemasons at Wiswell on several occasions with my partner and children. Each time the service has been great, and the food is fantastic - especially their mini sweet selection! Top quality food with a really great atmosphere. Much recommended.

I had a meal at Trattoria San Marco , the food was excellent. The restaurant was really bright and had lots of natural light. This is easily one of the best Italian restaurants within the north west. Keep it up!

Went to Marco's last Saturday night 2nd October 2010 for someones 18th, the food was excellent but the service was awful, some people in the group were getting there courses 10-15 mins after the rest which is very poor, ordered drinks and they took 20 mins to come, sorry won't recommend this place to anyone, they need to get there act together and I won't be going again.

We have been visiting Piri Piri since it opened just a few months ago - the food is fantastic and must be tried - go for the extra hot piri piri platter to share! Service levels are truly excellent. This is a family restaurant and to dine here is to become a member of the owners family. He will greet you personally, check with you on a regular basis and really make even an afternoon snack a special occasion. On Saturday nights (which are getting busier and busier as word spreads) the owners lovely wife helps out front-of house, while other friends and relatives work in the kitchen or as waiting staff. Our 5yr old son has asked to have his birthday party here - he is welcomed and treated as a very special customer each time we visit - but then so are all kids. My wife and I recently visited for a romantic and rare, night away from our son - again it was a marvellous experience - cosy, bustling, brilliant food, inexpensive and excellent wine. I encourage everyone to try this place - it's truly marvellous.

We dined at the newdrop for Sunday lunch,we wanted something special for my fathers 70th birthday.The service was excellent,the staff couldn't do enough for us e.g. lighting the cake,taking photos etc..and above all else the food was great! I would highly recommend this restaurant, and will certainly go again.

My wife and I from Oregon U.S.A. are in town to visit our cousins in Walton-le-Dale. The food was great. I had salmon that was worth coming from Oregon to eat. Please stop by and have some food. Ken Murphy
