Cinnamon – BlackburnWe have enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere of Etna for nearly 30 years. We now live in Canada but we always find time to visit when we go back to the UK. Dominic greets us like long lost friends & we always have stuffed mushrooms & lasagne & it's still the best we've tasted anywhere, especially washed down with the house red.
Etna Pizza Pasta – LancasterQuite a small establishment, very cosy. Have been a couple of times, ordered starters and main courses, mainly been satisfied. Not very private seating as tables are quite close together but the food is wonderful. The only thing we would of changed was the starter with mushrooms, mozzerella sticks and skins, it was very greasy and quite tasteless. The risotto is creamy and mourish, the cheese garlic bread is the best i have tasted. The calzone pizza was marvellous. The staff are helpful and even if dishes aren't exactly to your taste, they will change things to suit you, if available, ie i had a creamy sauce, even tho the dish stated tomato sauce.
Monte Cristo – AccringtonDon't go to Bukhara expecting the usual Beer and curry night. They dont sell alcohol for a start. No big deal really when you consider the quality of food is fantastic. I'm a real foodie and have been several times and loved it every time. Originally recommended by an Indian friend, Bhukara tends to make more authentic Indian dishes. I guess the fact that the restaurant is usually largely populated by Indian families, points to the fact that they serve REAL Indian food. Trust me, try it and you'll never quite see the local Indian takeaway in the same light again. I would recommend their signature mango salad (spicy!) and try some Mango Lassi to boot. Mmmm, makes me want to have a curry just thinking about it.
Bukhara – PrestonI visited the Blue Elephant a few years back and wrote a review (02/10/2004) about the poor service i'd received twice. I have to say, I tried again on a friend's recommendation and this visit was much, much better good food, very nice ambience and good friendly service. Although, prices are a little on the expensive side.
The Elephant – ChorleyExcellent food !! we have been on a number of occasions and have never had a bad meal !!Lovely homemade chips and coleslaw
The Greyhound – LancasterWith great views, excellent food and fabulous decor this is a great choice for a romantic meal. One of my favourite places! Kimberley x.
Wellsprings Inn Pendle Hill – ClitheroeBeen to lots of Italian restaurants and this is one of the best. We went on a Saturday night and had a table booked for 8.45pm and had to wait half an hour but it wasn't a problem as the bar area is lovely - really comfy sofas and a good atmosphere. Very busy but the service was excellent. I had octopus salad to start and pasta for main and both were excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will go back very soon. Beats Tiggis and Angelos by far. Menu was varied and lots of specials on offer. Price was average for an Italian, some people may say a bit on the expensive side but it was well worth it.
Tinos – PrestonWhat a find!! hidden down a beautiful country lane The Buck Inn is by far one of the best eating and drinking houses around. The menu choice is unbelievable for the size of the pub and the prices are reasonable. The gammon is awesome and sourced locally apparently. Service is truly amazing to say how busy they get, a credit to the staff who unlike most places do afford you a smile for your trouble. Truly exceptional!!
The Buck Country Pub – ClitheroeOverpriced, small, not quite hot enough food. The staff constantly hover over you, i won't go back !
Honey Tree – Morecambeveg swimming in water, sour faced bar maid, good waiter, food Ok, it's set in nice 1970 decor !
Saffron Indian Restaurant – Morecambeas at the three fishes, i really object to having to part with my credit card on arrival, then at these prices have to go to the till and order yourself. I did write a letter of complaint, but alas, no one could be bothered to reply !
The Highwayman – Kirkby LonsdaleQuite simply the best Italian meal you will find. The specials are fantastic and the portions are generous.
Amico Mio – ClitheroeAlthough the food was good, there wasn't much choice for soft drinks. I would say it's a place to go once. I expected a proper Thai restaurant but the place looked more like a English tea house.
Thai Orchid The – PrestonI cannot fault the service no matter how big or small the size of the party I dine with. The food is always consistently good and the happy hour is amazing value for money. The menu is so varied and someone would be hard pushed not to find something they would like.
Spaghetti House Restaurant – LancasterI have been visiting the spaghetti house for the past 7 years and find the service to be one of the best around. The staff make us feel extremely welcome and cannot do enough for us. I have never had a bad meal their and if anything my only fault would be that the portions are to generous. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and have taken friends there on many occasions.
Spaghetti House Restaurant – LancasterVisited for a bar meal on 15/9.07. Limited choice on the menu and very, very expensive for pub food. Fish, chips and peas cost more that £10.50. Chips were inedible -enormous and hard inside, overcooked and "hard baked" on the outside. When we complained to a waiter my plate was removed. Waiter returned some minutes later with the same plate to tell me that the chef had said that the problem was with the type of potatoes used and that he had added some more of the offending chips to my plate!!! Not worth the 60 mile round trip. Doubt if we'll ever go again.
Inn at Whitewell – ClitheroeJust amazing. Fantastic food, helpful staff and lovely family atmosphere. Go - now!!!
