Excellent meal, nice and relaxed between courses, lovely staff. Couldn't fault anything.

My husband and I had an evening meal in Sydneys a number of weeks ago, the food was excellent and the building has a lovely feel to it.....very cosy. We did have to wait a while for our food as they were very busy however this didn't put me off enquiring about Christmas works do ......they have a private room on the top floor which seats upto 25 which was perfect so after informing my work colleagues we decided to book......as time went on I printed the menus including the festive menu so there was plenty of choice, I have to say I was a bit apprehensive because I did find the staff member I dealt with a bit negative over several quite basic enquiries.....I made everything very easy for them by collecting in deposits and writing a list of all names and food orders, I also provided crackers party poppers napkins etc as there was a £5 charge for a glass of prosecco on arrival with a cracker, which we declined as not many of us like prosecco and I thought it was a bit tight of them not to provide crackers but never mind as all went well on the evening and the food, service and the room was all excellent and they made plenty on the bar....the staff members I dealt with on the run up just need to be a bit more friendly and less negative because all in all its a lovely venue.

Worth a miss! Firstly, let's say, the little food we were presented with was tasty. The serving staff were friendly and attentive. However, the time taken to be served our meal, when the place was less than 15% occupied was very poor, nearly 1.5 hours. When we finally did receive our main course, to say there was very little on the plate would be an understatement. We had heard before that service was slow but we didn't expect it to be this slow and the amount of food to be so little. The kind lady did sort the bill for us, however, a very poor experience and clearly it appears to be a known issue.

Went for a meal with 7 friends. The food was amazing, very well presented and tasted so good. I had the hanging tandoori chicken kebab. Only fault with it? I couldn’t eat it all I was so full. Definitely recommend that. Everyone else was really pleased with theirs too. The service was excellent. All the staff very friendly. Will definitely be going back.

It was our first visit to Sydneys having just moved to Lancaster. We had the festive menu and it didn't disappoint. The scallop starter was delicious followed by roast turkey with all the trimings. Very enjoyable definitely will visit again. Superb place and staff friendly and attentive

Booked Sydney’s as heard good reviews. It was a Christmas get together for past and current work colleagues, 4 of us. The food was excellent, but the service less so. We had to ASK always for service. As Sydney’s was open all afternoon through to the evening, three of us arrived early to have a drink first but we all had long waits to be served at the bar. No ability to put drinks on tab as they hadn’t allocated table, even though I had booked weeks ago. The coffee was thus cold by the time they took payment. At 18.00 hrs, the time I had booked, there was no attention paid to us in terms of moving us through to our table; not remembering we had booked even when told. We had to ask more than once to have our orders taken. Had to ask for water twice. Wrong drinks order. Waitress was not familiar to what she was bringing us - ie which gin was which, which coffee was decaf. Coffee wash cold when brought to the table. We all felt a general feeling of lack of efficiency and interest, even though the food was delicious.

Food, staff and venue we couldn't fault. Service could have been slightly quicker however, this never impacted on our experience.

I chose The Waterwitch as a halfway point for meeting friends for lunch on my 60th birthday. What a fabulous place. Friendly staff, fantastic setting on the canal and the food was great value for money. Highly recommended and will visit again.

We had a society event for 43 people in the first floor room. Food and service were excllent. lots of positive feedback from everyone who attended, well done team !

As regular eaters of Indian style foods, we rate this meal very highly. We usually eat at another restaurant but decided to try the Sultan for a change. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, excellent service and excellent food. The portion sizes were generous too. We came away with full intentions of returning .

A perfect dinner with family. The food was delicious with lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options. The staff were very careful to ensure the food was prepared gluten-free too. The whole atmosphere was so cosy, especially with the wood fire and the staff were really friendly. We will definitely be returning!

We have held a family reunion meal for 8 at the Station for the last couple of years and have always enjoyed it, but I think the food this year was up on previous years, it is always well presented , tasty and good portions but just seemed to be that bit tastier this year. And the service was excellent as always. One thing that is nice about the pub is it is dog friendly although we do not require it it is always nice to see. Would recommend to everybody.

Great food and well kept beer. The service was also excellent
