Victoria Inn – LancasterWe visited the Dalton arms on the friday the 15th of April, after going crabbing with my son and mother at Glasson Dock. They have a special on Fridays called fishy Fridays and at £6.65 it is well worth it as you get fish and chips a pot of tea and bread and butter. The staff are really friendly, and the restaurant inside is really nice much to our surprise. The fish was lightly battered and lovley and fresh. All in all a pleasant experience and if when I'm visit Glasson dock, I will certainly try the Dalton Arms again!
Dalton Arms – LancasterCalled in at the Victoria whilst on holiday. Very welcoming, fair prices and excellent food. Will call again when next in area.
Victoria Inn – Lancasternon what so ever i saw the chef scratching his behind while he was cooking and then chopping veg it was disgusting.
Dalton Arms – LancasterSultan Restaurant is a venue that really suits it's name. The building is about 200 years old, it has got some really interesting artwork up on the ceiling which really gives it the feel of a sultans lair. The food was excellent. I chose the chicken jalfrezi which was delicious. The service was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely return.
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterI ate here on my sister's recommendation and can see why she raves about it! Gourmet food at a basic price. The best local produce and everything home made, imaginatively presented and delicious. My starter was a dou of salmon( cooked 3different ways) with cream cheese, followed by pan fried cod, olive and pepper tapenade with confit plum tomato, followed by the lightest home made dream of a sticky toffee pudding and butterscoth sauce. My companion had ham hock and parsley terrine with home made piccalilli, then the tenderest of roast beef and home made Yorkshire pudding followed by a glazed lemon tart. The accompanying vegetables and roast potatoes were unfaultable and the three courses with fresh coffee, tea and homemade chocolates was £18 per person. I have paid far more elsewhere for lesser quality. The chef Karen trained at Michelin star level and it shows. The atmosphere is welcoming with woodburning stove and oak floors and there is a garden centre and gift shop.It makes a visit to the picturesque village of Wray even more worth while. The tea rooms are open 10am till 5pm in the summer and 4pm in the winter with Friday 5pm tea a speciality and a bistro evening meal alternate Saturdays. I Heartily recommended.
Bridge House Farm and Tea Room – LancasterEnjoyed an excellent dish of south African kingclip with chorizo mash! Great location with really friendly staff. South African hospitality!
The Stork Inn – LancasterDO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND DON'T GO. Visited Saturday 26 March 2011. Wrong orders, undercooked chicken and appalling customer service!
Marcos – LancasterWanted to go somewhere for a great Sunday lunch and was definitely not disappointed. Plenty of food, great prices and superb quality beers. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. Have been back already for a midweek meal and food was just as good!
Dalton Arms – LancasterReally lovely traditional pub. Nice bar and open fire. Staff couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome. Excellent food and very reasonable...we were all very full! Well worth the visit, we were certainly not disappointed and will be going again.
Dalton Arms – LancasterExcellent meal in pleasant surroundings. The evening we visited the staff was low in numbers, but that made no difference, there were no delays and certainly no rush. The menu choice, the meal and service was excellent. We will go again and maybe in the lighter evenings to see more of the locality.
Dalton Arms – LancasterThe Sultan restaurant can't be beaten for fresh, delicious Indian cuisine. I have been a fan since attending St Martins 25 years ago and go to the Sultan whenever I'm back in Lancaster. As a student we always spent more money on curry at the Moghuls, [ previous location], than we did on beer because it was so good and a great place to socialise.
Sultan Of Lancaster – Lancasterbeautiful food since new chef arrived daily specials great prices 100 % recommendation. will be going again.
Dalton Arms – LancasterAwful Service!!! Having visited the Dalton rooms a number of times since its opening, I have always been happy with the food, but slightly dissatisfied with the service, I however left this down to starting up, teething problems, with any business it takes time to develop a good team of staff, as a bar in the evenings it always has a great atmosphere with a huge range of good beers and wines. After my most recent visit however I am in no hurry to go back. We entered the restaurant, without being greeted by any of the numerous staff stood around in conversation. We sat at a table and ordered our food and some drinks. The wait for our starters was fine, and were very enjoyable, we were not however wished an enjoyable meal. The plates were cleared away in a timely manner after we had finished, although we were not asked if everything was ok with our starters. Following this our main courses were brought out, the mash potato has gone hard on the outside, like it had been cooked in a microwave or left under a hot plate for a long time. Once again we were not wished an enjoyable meal, at no point throughout the meal were we offered any more drinks, which were both empty by the time the main courses arrived, or asked if everything was ok. When we had finished, our plates were not cleared away for 20 minutes and we would have quite liked to order a desert but this was also never offered. I can understand a lack of attention to customers during busy periods, but we were the only table eating at the time, and all the staff were stood around chatting, One staff member stood very close to our table, told one of the bar staff very loudly he was starting his shift at 6pm, was still stood around chatting at 6.20 with his coat and hat on. When I got up to pay our bill, we were not asked at any point if everything had been ok with our meals and were just handed the bill. Overall very sloppy service.
Dalton Rooms – LancasterThe food looks good, but I couldn't access the restaurant as it is on the first floor of a building, requiring stair access. I went with a wheelchair user who couldn't access the restaurant and so couldn't sample the menu. I appreciate that the design of the building doesn't allow wheelchair access, but it would have been helpful if the website could have reflected this.
Whale Tail Vegetarian Cafe – LancasterStay well clear. The old female manager is damn right rude. She shouted at me and this upset me and my granchild.
The Cross Keys – LancasterWe go every year to celebrate our anniversary. In all the 10 years we have been going both my husband and I have never been disappointed by the food or service. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Golden Dragon – LancasterA beautiful and impressive building which is warm and inviting inside and is very child friendly (we had small children with us) . The food was delicious and service was excellent! I believe it has been taken over by Chameleon pub company, and it is very much improved in my opinion. I shall most certainly shall be returning!
Greaves Park – LancasterTakeaway available at 15% discount to main menu prices - collection only.
