A really beautiful building, newly renovated. Pub food at restaurant prices. Disappointing! Huge portions. Quite unnecessary. Friendly staff and locals.

The Fleece Inn – LancasterThis lovely little countryside pub is a great destination for those who are out in the countryside around Lancaster. The best dishes are the South African dishes which are consistently perfect :)
The Stork Inn – LancasterJust had a Blood Orange tea, wow! The Priory Hall is a great atmospheric place to quaff it! Will return to try the other 10 or so teas on the menu.
Priory Hall – LancasterCalled in for Sunday lunch with 3 friends on January 18th, very warm welcome, the staff were all so very friendly and helpful, the food was very hot and well presented. Oh the veg soup was the best soup that I have ever had , and the roast 100%, thank you all at the Fleece Inn, will see you again next Sunday.
The Fleece Inn – LancasterA really pleasant experience every time. I have been visiting the Borough for a number of years and not once have I walked away feeling disgruntled! Great service, delicious food and a perfect ambience for any social occasion.
The Borough – LancasterNot been to the Bay Horse for years and this was an impromptu decision for a late Sunday lunch. Preceded by a visit to Barton Grange garden centre (completely rammed in early November!) then after a few wrong turns we arrived for 2.45. Still very busy and the four of us were squeezed onto a small table but the meal was really excellent. All the table had the same – roast beef (which comes pink) and a divine apricot bread and butter pudding – and we all agreed it was the best Sunday Lunch bar none that we had had locally. Washed down by two fine bottles of Rioja!
Bay Horse Inn – LancasterBrilliant pizzas.
Bella Italia – LancasterSunday lunch starter was ham hock terrine a delight. BEEF SUPERB PORK SUPERB. We also had a mocha which is a luxury when made properly, as it was.
The White Cross Pub – Lancasterlovely icecream.
The Pudding House at Wallings Farm – LancasterThe best Sunday lunch in Lancaster.I have tried most places and this lovely pub restaurant stands out.Hearty localy produce freshly made, fantastic Yorkshire puddings and lovely home made gravey.Staff are friendly and helpful good selection of wine and beer.Very homely atmosphere and great value.A must if you enjoy and good Sunday lunch.
Wagon and Horses – LancasterThis pub always delivers! The food is delicious I think my husband and I have exhausted the menu. Everything is great love the local produce with South African twists. Whenever we have friends coming to stay we book a table at the Stork even though we live in near Poulton. The journey is well worth it, can't wait for our next visit.
The Stork Inn – LancasterCame across this lovely eatery by chance on my birthday trip out into the country this weekend and had a delicious meal. Service and food both excellent and have recommended to friends who enjoy lovely home cooked food on trips out into the country villages. The little garden centre provided a lovely present from my hubby.
Bridge House Farm and Tea Room – LancasterUsed the afternoon tea voucher to treat my friend for her birthday and it was superb! Knocked spots off the Midland in Morecambe, The Ritz in London and especially M and S. Well done as the sandwiches were well filled, the cakes and scones delightful and we were even given a box to take home those we couldn't eat. It was a real treat .Thank you !
Thurnham Hall – LancasterA revamped pub which I am glad to say has returned to its former splendour after looking derelict for some time. The food is excellent and so is the standard of service. I have been tempted to try some food I haven’t tried before and now it is a regular. Definitely worth a visit even if the cost is slightly higher. You only get what you pay for.
The Fenwick Arms – LancasterThe Fenwick has risen again having defeated many, even the attentions of the great Gordon Ramsey. Now run by the Seafood Pub Company of Assheton Arms fame. The menu is not just fish and should satisfy most tastes. . From the outside the pub is not inspiring, right on the road, with a carpark-side terrace. Inside it is plain, almost stark, but very comfortable. The food is a triumphant delight. Superb produce cooked to perfection with side harmonies making up luscious plates. Service is swift, humorous, well informed and very professional. We had a pleasing and very very good lunch and can only hope that this time the Fenwick is here to stay, and will prove a worthy competitor to the nearby Highwayman.
The Fenwick Arms – LancasterI have eaten here many times over the years and have never been disappointed. The food and service are second to none,I also love the unique atmosphere and the great space to eat in there.First class service always with a smile.
Whale Tail Vegetarian Cafe – Lancasterv friendly, top beers and spirits. good music.
The Robert Gillow – LancasterGreat cafe, lovely meals/snacks. And polite and pleasent staff other establishments could learn from. Very hard to find a good place to eat at reasonable prices in Lancaster,,,Would definitely go again and again. 9/10
