Superb food, lovely pub and fantastic service!

Our second visit with family this time. One of our family is allergic to shellfish staff did everything to make sure she didn't face cross contamination and have hidden shellfish. Who knew so many sauces contain shell fish extract in them. Happily she had a great meal without being made to feel awkward. The service always excellent staff really attentive and friendly and food amazing. We will be back again. Thank you for looking after us.

My wife and I had an evening meal yesterday and were extremely pleased. The food was very good including making a very creative change to a shell food risotto because of a food allergy, replacing it with superb mixed vegetables. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t have been more charming and helpful. All in all an excellent evening and highly recommended.

My husband had the Thai fishcake to start followed by the Steak pie which he enjoyed. I had the garlic chicken. I thought it lacked garlic and the spinach and potato it was placed on was rather burnt with an acrid taste, disappointing to say the least.

Check your booking! Having booked two weeks earlier we were disappointed to be seated in the pub for our evening meal. We were told the dining room was fully booked although this didn’t seem to be the case when we eventually got moved there after some discussion with staff. Some dishes were not available, some came slightly different from the menu description and some orders were not as ordered. Nice food eventually just a shame for a lovely pub and just hope the new staff can improve.

Pros- 6 of us had main meals here 1/6/24 3 had desert. All thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the portions were great and vfm was about average. Cons- a wedding was taking place so it was quite busy with people walking past us constantly setting up the buffet upstairs, the dj propped the door open while bringing in all her equipment which made 2 of our party quite cold, there was a dog in the bar which was fine apart from it barking a lot and no effort to move it or get it to quiet down. The worst thing was though, after we had all finished our meals our empty plates were not cleared for at least an hour, half were cleared when the deserts arrived and the rest only cleared when the desert dishes taken away.

We went to tabby teas for a birthday treat and it was wonderful. Staff were so helpful and kind, the coffee and cake was delicious and the cars were adorable! Highly recommend

Decided on spur of the moment to have lunch with two friends - booked table on line and arrived at restaurant half an hour later. Staff were very welcoming and we asked if we could sit outside as it was a gorgeous day. Service was brilliant - came shortly after being seated to ask for drinks order and then after a time for our meal order. Food was good value for money and very tasty. Spent most of the afternoon there and they didn't rush us as it wasn't too busy.

Thank you for our lovely evening yesterday, we had an amazing good choice of food, even for me who is coeliac. We shall definitely visit again.

We booked a meal for our parents anniversary and both the service and the food wildly exceeded our expectations. Food was truly delicious, piping hot and well season home made fare. Thanks again

Was staying locally and decided to try The Craven Arms. Was not disappointed at all! Wonderful food, great, friendly service and reasonably priced. Will definitely return if we are back in this part of the world!

Excellent food! I’m a veggie and the choices I had were lovely and refreshingly different from the norm. My meal was delicious accompanied by a lovely wine recommended by the server. The music playlist was brilliant and after our meal moved through to the bar area and stayed for the rest of the evening. Would highly recommend!
