Had a fantastic time at Oshibi. Service impeccable from firstly booking to helping my wife and myself with what to choose from the menu (it was our first Korean dining experience) A gem of a restaurant in a beautiful part of York. The bibimbap was a firm favourite and went beautifully with the BBQ. We plan to return soon. I would highly recommend Oshibi.

Booking system on website is rubbish. No confirmation email so didn't know if we had actually got a table. Got there and no, no oozing adequate. Fortunately we were lucky and got a table. From there on the experience went up hill. Great staff, great service and excellent food.

Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and great food

Visited Sambuca last night. I had the Pollo Picante with saute potato side dish, it was delicious. My friend had the lamp chop special, she said it was also excellent, cooked to perfection. Sambuca is my favourite local Italian and I would definitely recommend it.

Hidden gem of a restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed a meal here with my son after visiting the Universities. A limited menu, but fabulous quality food at a reasonable price. Loved the Asian chicken burger! It denned bee quiet for a Friday night, despite lovely surroundings. Friendly, attentive & really helpful staff. Shame there is no dessert menu, we would have stayed longer. We would recommend and return.

I hadn’t been to Fugi hero since before lockdown. We decided to go for my birthday last minute and booked online to go on the evening. After fighting our way through rush hour traffic we were disappointed to hear that they don’t accept on the day booking. They rants need to change their booking system so people cannot book on the day. Very sad to be turned away as I had booked, my children were hungry and it was my birthday. Disappointed! The food and price were always good in the past hence the rating

What can I say about this gastro pub? It ticks all the boxes we could want in a pub where it is close to us,excellent food,a very friendly and helpful staff,who go the extra mile to make you feel that you are special. We go on a regular basis and can’t recommend this venue enough to our friends and family. We have been fed and watered on many occasion,with family or friends as our guests in this wonderful eatery. This is truly a 5 star pub for us and look forward to returning very soon.

Had fantastic meal service excellent

We were a party of 4 x at the Magpie in Late October 2021. Brilliant service and amazing food. This restaurant has been at the top of it's game for a long time and always delivers great fish & chips. Thanks for making our time at your restaurant amazing..

The best fish & chips I’ve ever had!

We visited the magpie 4 times during our weeks stay in Whitby. Each time the food & service was brilliant. Can’t wait to come back.

First time visiting Whitby and after doing a bit of research into the best fish and chips decided to prebook a table. What a good choice . Loved it and saw Jane McDonald about to go in filming a few hours before and knew it was going be the best. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Visited Maxis on the night of their anniversary (22 years), visited several times before and always a fantastic atmosphere. Staff always smiling and can’t do enough for people. Temperatures still taken at the door despite most places now no longer bothering with Covid restrictions. Food was as fabulous as always. Would recommend the special banquet, fabulous selection of food and they are always happy to box up any leftovers. (Which is every time so far for us). Even given a lollipop as we left despite me being in my 50s!
