Great food, quick service and a great 3 course offer. The portions are very genrous and staff very firendly.

Wonderful, delicious and hearty food! We were not disappointed with our first visit to Brontaes, it will definitely not be the last. We LOVED the scallops, pig cheek and chorizo, pan friend hake and blood orange cheesecake. Was really reasonably priced too despite the food being top quality. So excited to have this sort of British restaurant on our doorsteps. We will be back!

It was an awful experience; 8.45pm service. Staff did their best, but clearly tired. Very little on the advertised menu was available; no ventilation; extremely hot. Management team not present; unfortunately had to sit adjacent to an awful party celebrating a most gross, obscene man celebrity his 50th birthday; we had to listen to the most obscene language I have ever heard; then moving on to anecdotes about date rape Pure class and changed us £90 for the “privilege “ Never again

Super meal, welcome on arrival could have been a bit better. Service at the table was good. Fabulous fish and chips!

The food was very good and the service extremely friendly. However, the music was so loud that I couldn’t have a conversation with my friend. The bright blue and white light made for an uncomfortable atmosphere.

The best dim sum I've had in a while. We visited on a Sunday afternoon when it wasn't too busy and the place started filling up with dinner guests and families out celebrating birthdays and special occasions. It didn't feel crowded as the tables were well spaced. Staff were helpful and attentive although the temperature check on entry was unannounced and felt quite abrupt. We had char siu buns, which were larger than usual, fluffy with just the right amount of filling. Wu Kok was sensational - light crispy batter with a filling that actually tasted of yam. Har Goy was plump with a nice crunch to the prawn filling - best eaten steaming hot. A dish of house special crispy noodle was generous with a variety of meat and veg and not too salty. The salted duck egg and custard bun came with the rest of the dim sum but was cold by the time we got to it - but probably just as well, as the filling would have scalded earlier. Will definitely come again!

I was given a copy of the recipe book a number of years ago and was very excited to have the opportunity to sample some of the dishes at the restaurant. Tjis fid not disappoint. A lovely setting, very pleasant staff and lovely food.

Excellent food and service- been many times and the Magpie always lives up to expectations! Fabulous gluten free choices, including deserts! Staff knowledgeable and friendly.

A few suggestions for the restaurant: 1: I had a chicken katsu curry bento. Please look at your competition for ideas eg kokoro as the chicken was flat and dry. 2: Please ensure that you are using Sushi rice and not long grain rice. Long grain is more difficult to pick up with chopsticks 3: Could the waitress turn down the volume when she is talking to the kitchen staff as it sounded like she was berating them for something. the customers don't need to hear this. 4: If you are going to advertise sushi, please can it be available Positive was the free flowing green tea and the Enka music playing

What a find! I'm not often in the City centre on a working day but this is my new go to place for Business lunch / catch ups. I'm a Coeliac so great to see GF friendly dishes clearly idenitified on the menu. Really tasty food, great waiting staff and nice space.

Amply portioned, brilliantly tasty food served by very friendly staff in a comfortable environment. Would not hesitate to return and might be a little more adventurous than fish and chips, which just had to be done on the first trip!

Every time we have eaten here the food has always been great.

Lovely food and lots of gluten free options. I felt safe! Starters were tasty- loved the crab, partner had the haddock and prawn in leek sauce for main where I had cod and chips. Cod and chips were not at all greasy / batter was crunchy but not too thick. We were well looked after and really enjoyed the food and wine.

What can i say .............................. Service impecable food was just mmmm perfect I Had Calzone my wife had Steak she loved it i was same i must admit i am fussy calzone i asked for speciasl fillings and all came exactly ( one thing i did mention was the tomato base was different to what im used to ) no disrepect to the food it was perfect. I well recommend this place 100%
