Santiago chicken amazing as always!

We've been to Georgios several times in the past and it's always been good, but we were really disappointed on Monday. The restaurant was worryingly not covid safe - half the waitresses weren't wearing face coverings/had them round their necks, yet got very close to us. Our glasses and cutlery were dirty. The food was also disappointing- the four different dishes we had all had the exact same tomato sauce and pretty much tasted the same. The meatballs were burnt and pretty sure the melanzane parmigiana didn't contain any parmesan. Thankfully it was half price- it certainly wasn't worth more than that for a fairly unpleasant and stressful experience.

Absolutely delicious! First time eating out in months and was dubious as to what to expect but the staff were incredible. Soon as we got there the staff made us feel welcome and safe. Our beers arrived in minutes and the food arrived promptly. Oh, the food! The ribs and chicken fell off the bone. Taste sensation. If you haven’t tried it, you should! Thanks Roots team 10/10 from us.

The food is excellent. Never been disappointed. The COVID measures they have put in place are very good. Would recommend.

This pub has made our holiday! We popped in on our first night without booking and the staff found us a table for drinks and food. Food is excellent and varied compared to the usual pub grub. We then booked in for Sunday lunch which was great and we are booked in again tonight, can't wait. Staff are friendly and helpful in these difficult times, all this and dog friendly too!

We were recommended Georgios by many people and decided to book it to celebrate my daughters GCSE results , I had prebooked a table for 3 a week before , I did this as I expected it be busy due to the eat out to help out scheme . We arrived on time it was very busy and they had over booked we were asked to go to the pub next door and come back in 15 mins ? We did that , went back it was still busy we bought a drink and waited inside , eventually we got a table , the owner was really apologetic and said he would buy us a drink which I thought only fair after been asked to go back and waiting over half hour to be sat bearing in mind I had pre booked . The food was amazing cannot fault anything with it and the staff were very friendly, we even ordered a pizza to take home for my son it was so good , 10/10 for food and friendliness just disappointed about the service we revived on arrival , and never got the free drink , I will definitely be going back though .

The food was amazing! And the staff were more than willing to help. Very safe with covid as they had everyone socially distanced and checked your temperature on arrival! Best chinese in York and reasonably priced

Amazing service & food! Recommended by AirBnB owner went yesterday for Carvery Sunday lunch & lived up to reputation. From initial warm greeting outside felt looked after and thoroughly enjoyed dining out for the first time since Covid. All the staff are so friendly and could not do more for you & all seemed to enjoy working there. Well organised and chef plated Carvery on a tick sheet system for what you wanted. Great service amazing home cooked food booked to go back later in week. Loved it thanks to you all ❤️

Absolutely fantastic!! Always come here when in the York area shame it’s not closer to where I live, cannot Fault the food, value for money and service everything spot on for a lovely dining experience can strongly recommend

An excellent venue with fantastic food and wine. The staff were extremely helpful With great advice on the food and wine and very polite. Very reasonably priced. We will certainly be returning to this restaurant again, it made the perfect end to our stay away in York.

Four of us visited for the second time on Friday 04/09. What a lovely place this is. Difficult times with Covid but felt very safe with tables spaced appropriately and sanitisers dotted around the restaurant. The food was delicious and great value for money at £120 all in with several rounds of drinks. Really can’t fault this place and would highly recommend.

Amazing service, food came fast and so did the drinks. First time at maxis and will definitely be coming back.

Had a great night on Friday 4 September celebrating my husbands retirement. All social distancing measures in place without being intrusive. Food and service were excellent as always.
