HIGHLY RECOMMEND VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. IT WAS VERY BUSY, BUT THEY KEPT CHECKING TO SEE IF WE WERE OK. THEY ADVISED US THAT THEY DIDNT HAVE THE PLATTERS (IT WAS EAT OUT TO HELP OUT, SO UNDERSTANDABLE). THE FOOD WAS FRESHLY COOKED AND HOT. WE HAD THE SAUSAGE STARTERS, LAMB AND MIXED KEBAB MAIN COURSE. COULDNT EAT THE CHIPS AS WE WERE FULL FROM EVERYTHING ELSE.
The Aegean Taverna – HullSuperb food, service and atmosphere. My favourite Chinese restaurant in Yorkshire - always worth a visit! Super clean as well during covid19. Would highly recommend the visit for a special dim sum lunch.

31 Castlegate Restaurant – YorkService was very poor, booking a table for 6 people for a family birthday meal and was left outside for a hour waiting to be seated, majorly overbooked as they don’t turn their online booking off when full. Clearly could not handle being busy. Food was ok but nothing special. Would not be returning!

We have eaten in a few restaurants since Lockdown was relaxed for restaurants, but going to Maxis Restaurant was the first time we felt very safe eating in a restaurant, due to their new Covid19 procedures. Well done Maxis Restaurant.
Maxis – YorkThis restaurant is like a hidden gem and I can't believe I hadn't been sooner. It's very small and cosy inside with a really great atmosphere, I came with friends and had a great time but it's quiet so imagine it would be good for a lone lunch too. The food was amazing, the okonomiyaki came on cute little sticks for sharing, the katsu curry was delicious and the portions are huge, one of our party couldn't finish their enormous katsudon and the staff offered a takeaway box without even being asked. Staff are friendly and courteous and overall the experience made for a really great evening, we will definitely be coming back here!
Fuji Hiro – Leeds City CentreBooked last minute for a family meal and was lucky to get a table and it’s clear to see why. From the first moment we arrived the attentive staff took care of our every need and played and entertained our young family. The meal was sublime and presentation was lovely a real taste of Greece albeit on a rainy evening in Hull. Will definitely go again next time we visit Hull.

Regarding Covid they had hand sanitiser around, one way systems, I felt like it was organised. I had the crab cakes with Asian salad and it was absolutely beautiful, nice and fresh. The rest of the family had got roast stotties and they all said how nice they were. I love the fact my dog is welcome and they even have a doggie menu; he loved his Cumberland sausage and puppicino

We had a great table round a corner and close to the fireplace, ideal for a romantic meal for two. We will certainly be back and will recommend it to all our friends and family.
31 Castlegate Restaurant – YorkMe and the Mrs went in for date night on a Friday night our first since lockdown ended and were not disappointed. The restaurant looks nice, the staff were great and the ambience was good too. I had the seafood risotto which was amazing and the wife had the duo of fish which was also great. The red wine was excellent too, I believe it was the Primitivo. Definitely recommend and will become a regular for us.

Roots Rum Shack and Kitchen – HullBooked Fuji Hiro as wanted Japanese food and really glad we did, the decor doesn’t look amazing when you arrive so our friends were a little hesitant but the food was impeccable. The sushi looked and tasted fantastic and the ramen and Katy’s curry, gyoza were all great too!
