Good food, not many people in so served a little too quickly .

When our holiday to Crete was cancelled due to Covid we decided to console ourselves with an authentic meal at this, often visited, Greek restaurant. As usual, we were not disappointed. The food was plentiful and delicious. We visit quite often and will continue to do so. If you enjoy Greek food, please give it a try,

Friendly and helpful front of house staff member, small but interesting food menu, set menus excellent value for money. Food well presented and very tasty, both the lamb and duck were delicious. Interesting, historic building was a lovely setting to enjoy a wonderful meal. Would definitely recommend.

What a lovely place, excellent food and excellent service by the young female who worked tirelessly on her own. Would definitely recommend and we will be back when next in York. Couldn’t fault it.

Excellent food and a nice relaxed atmosphere. So glad we walked past and looked at the menu and booked. If we visit York again we will definitely revisit.

This was our first visit to Maxis and it didn’t disappoint! The staff were helpful, friendly and polite. Service was fast and efficient and the food was absolutely fantastic. We will definitely be coming again.

Had a meal here last month. Booked online but when we arrived, our booking wasn’t on their list. They’d had some issues with online booking, but immediately found us a table with no issues at all. Food was amazing, and service was very good. All staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely visit again if we were in Hull. And would recommend for anyone wanting some real traditional Greek food at a very reasonable price!

Went to Roots as haven't been in years and it was even better than I remembered. I had ribs to start, which were outstanding, 10/10. Main was my old favourite which was the Santiago chicken, which never disappoints. Service, atmosphere all brilliant, already booked to you go. Well done guys!

Amazing food & drinks

Our recent meal at the Thai Sabai Restaurant was lovely. A warm greeting from the very friendly and courteous staff as is the norm. The food was excellent and it was lovely to visit a restaurant again. In spite of the restrictions put on restaurant premises during this Covid 19 period , which were strictly adhered to, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The wonderful carvings and wall hangings enhance the authentic ambience of a Thai restaurant. Very much looking forward to our next visit.
