Meadows Brewers Fayre – BarnsleyVery good service and polite
Meadows Brewers Fayre – Barnsleyexcellent value for money but it is so cold in there.
Rudds Arms – MiddlesbroughWe visited the New Inn for my brother's birthday recently. The new decor is fantastic, chic but retaining that village pub feel that we wouldn't want it to loose. The new menu caters for a wide variety of tastes and the food was a very good standard. Our waitress, Margaret, was fantastic, patient, courteous and accommodating. The new owners are doing a brilliant job and we would highly recommend a visit.
New Inn Walton – WakefieldHighly recommended for everyone, regardless of whether your a vegetarian of full blown meat eater. Small but perfectly formed menu, great atmosphere and friendly personal service
Dandelion and Burdock – Sowerby BridgeWhat a gem of a place this is,the food is amazing been five times already this month and have booked for Sunday.Nothing to much trouble for the happy staff here. The landlady is so nice you can tell she really cares, treats everyone so well..
The Bottomleys Arms – HalifaxDreadful ! The battered fish was burned, the chips were sparse - i got seven chips on my meal of ham egg and chips. The chicken was tough, the panini was cold . None of the food was warm enough and the portion sizes were a joke. 11 of us had a meal there and only 1 was happy. Mass produced rubbish with no thought. We all ordered together and some meals came ten minutes after I had finished mine ! The real sting in the tail was that it's two meals for a tenner everyday except Saturday . We resented paying full price for rubbish that was sub standard and inadequate.
Black Horse Hotel – SkiptonGreat atmosphere, friendly staff and great food... Would recommend as the perfect venue for perhaps a first date
Rhubarb – HuddersfieldWe had a lovely meal here on 5 March 2012.It is a nice modern restaurant with contemporary decor and nice subdued lighting. We hadn't booked a table but we were made very welcome and offered a nice quiet table with a candle. The staff were absolutely lovely. The food was great. We had poppadoms and a mixed Indian starter for two. These were served with some really nice chutneys including tamarind which was good..The presentation and quality of the food was excellent. For our main course we each had a chicken curry a Madras and a Tikka Marsalla. The chicken in each was lovely and the sauce was very tasty. We also had rice and a Peshwari nan bread. We loved it all!As we were on holiday we also decided to have a dessert! We shared a piece of lemon cheesecake. We washed the lot down with a bottle of house red wine. The food, the service and the atmosphere was great. The meal was reasonably priced and we would recommend it most highly.
Scarborough Tandoori – ScarboroughDelicious - absolutely delicious, you really should try this place!
Miahs Kitchen – Leeds City CentreAmazing seafood knocks the socks off all the other so called Italian restaurants. fantastic for families we were amazed by the service quality and price You must go
Fellinis – MiddlesbroughWhy why why did they feel the need to 'fix' something that clearly wasn't broken!! We went to Salvos on a whim last Sunday afternoon. The fact that they could accommodate us at short notice should have been a warning! The refurbishment seems to have left them with less space than before and has more of a cafe/ canteen feel than a warm, welcoming restaurant. The menu seems to be have been reduced somewhat as well. As neither of us were inspired to try anything else, we shared a couple of pizzas, which took longer to arrive than seemed acceptable given how quiet it was. They were very, very good pizzas I am happy to say but still left us thinking that for a very good pizza there are plenty of other places closer to home that we could go to. Shame really.
Salvos – HeadingleyToday was my 1st visit to The old canteen and I was really impressed with everything except the staff at front of house ! The food and choice on offer looked impressive and our meals were well presented and really enjoyable. The setting was clean and spacious and had a relaxing atmosphere to it. The staff at front of house really didn't "go" with the overall excellent surroundings and food, one girl had jeans on and a cardigan that was so long on numerous occasions the floppy sleeve kept touching the butter everytime she went to make a hot drink, the butter should really have been covered and the staff should have a uniform or at least some kind of more professional attire. The other member of staff who took our order was more bothered about talking to her boyfriend who was stood at the counter nearby. Its a shame as everything else was more or less perfect !!!
The Old Canteen – HuddersfieldExcellent Food, Good Service. Real Shame they have put a kids menu on as it just encourages folk to visit with screaming kids in tow. Adults mainly like to go out for a "quiet" drink & a nice peaceful meal, not the case here anymore !!! Such a shame, as it is busy enough without needing folk to bring rugrats along too.
Wheatsheaf Inn – CleckheatonMy partner and I have visited Salute for getting on for five years or so. We love the place. Its wonderful to have a restaurant outside the city with class, very friendly service and fantastic food. The staff are always very welcoming and friendly, offering good suggestions if you cannot decide from the delicious menu! The food is wonderful; whether you have a full three course meal, or are just popping in for a light bite after work, you will not be disappointed. I love the fact they can provide you a smaller portion of mains if you cannot fit it all in. I would say though, if you cannot finish your meal, do get a doggy bag as you will regret not being able to finish it! Fantastic guys, don't stop what you are doing!
Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellFantastic restaurant with great good, great wine and first class service. Kids are made welcome with great priced high quality kids meals. My family have been going for years. I find the prices very reasonable for the quality of the food. There's a deal to be had if you're wanting one or a lovely a la carte option too. It's fantastic to have such a high quality, family friendly restaurant in a local area.
Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellWe've eaten here on several occasions it's so convenient living just round the corner. Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellGreat Staff, great selection of modern Italian classics and specials are fantastic. Price in comparison to city centre dinning is reasonable given the portion size, wine prices and no time limits on tables. I love this place and you will too!
