Me and my partner visited salute a few Sundays ago, it wasn't too late about 8.30. We had a drink and was shown to our table , there were quite a few in the bar area and a few in the restaurant finishing of there meals. we ordered our meals and while we were eating , the waitresses were clearing up round us the kitchen staff were going home , bearing in mind it was only 9.15 by this time. I asked the waitress what time did you close she asked the woman who owns it , who was stood at the bar with her bag ready to go , and didnt get an answer,. We felt very uncomfortable as if they wanted us to go we still had a large glass of red left, after we finished the meal, but felt we had to rush it because they wanted us out, then the music went off and the waitress were getting there coats on. We decided to leave and wait for our taxi outside as soon as we left they locked the doors. Will never return to this restaurant again the owner is a very rude woman

The best value for money,the food is great and always served hot without you having to wait ages.The chef's special is very good value. The staff are polite and very helpful. Only drawback is that place is small and can get overcrowded.

Fantastic food, really enjoyed our visit after dining here. Been to some poor places in Brid before but this was excellent!!

After reading the reviews on the Internet for The Lantern we visited on a weekend away in Hull and was not disappointed. We both had Fillet Steak and it was fantastic one of the best we have tasted cooked to perfection. A tip when choosing the vegetables is to pick what you both want and share the portions as enough to satisfy you. The deserts were scrummy too. Excellent service and a delight to visit. Well recommended.

The food was nice but I was really angry because I was charged £10 over what I should have been charged. I ordered Antipasto for 2 = £8, Sea Bass and potato = £17, calzone pizza = £9, 2 x pints of Peroni = £8 and I was charged £52 when it should have been £42. What also angered me was that when the bill came it did not itemise what I had but the bill just said FOOD = £44, DRINKS = £8 TOTAL = £52. This non-itemisation makes me feel a scam had gone on here - very unprofessional. Please ensure you check your bill before paying it or you will get ripped off. I will not go to this Restaurant again and will tell everybody I know about it. You don't treat customers that way.

Went to Dandelion and Burdock last night with my dad and a friend. Me and my dad had the smoked tofu stir fry, and my friend had the corn tortillas with soya mince chilli. After being told by my vegan friend that it's a great place, and seeing that it's been awarded accolades for top notch veggie food, I was made to feel very bad for suggesting we tried something different and go to a vegetarian place for tea. This isn't a gripe about vegetarian food. This is a gripe about bland and overcooked food. My noodles were dry, lacked sauce and flavour. The noodles were overcooked, and the tofu tasted of nothing. Considering tofu's awesome ability to absorb flavour, this was clearly some kind of wizardry for a vegetarian restaurant. There was no salt and pepper on the table, so I wasn't able to give my plate a boost of flavour. My friend who ordered the tortillas doesn't like flour tortillas, however, 1 out of 3 tortillas was flour, thankfully the portion of chilli was so frugal, the 2 corn tortillas sufficed. Also, the avocado was under ripe. I really wanted to be able to rave about this restaurant, however, felt underwhelmed and disappointed. What a shame, vegetarian food is brilliant, and needs to be eaten by more people. I really wanted to be able to recommend Dandelion and Burdock to friends

We have eaten at the Botts Arms many times before but have to say now that Jo, Steve and family have taken over, the food, atmosphere and service is 1st class. Nothing is too much trouble. It has gone from good food to top quality food, excellent service and friendly helpfull staff.

This pub is great, i go quite a lot and went last night to sample the new menu, the Thai haddock fishcakes were to die for.... Its never any trouble to substitute veg/salad/potatoes etc and they will always try to meet individual needs or specific requirements.... Always busy but worth a wait and good atmosphere, staff are great, especially Jo, landlady! She makes the place....

A very disappointing visit this evening. A one hour wait between starters and main course and then one of the main courses brought out wasn't what was ordered. When the waiter was questioned, we were told it was because they had run out of the dish ordered and just brought an alternative - without any consultation with the person ordering! Such a shame.....

Eaten here a couple of times and every time the food and service has been second to none.

This shop holds a Fish and Chip Quality Award from the Nation Federation of Fish Frier. You can be sure of the quality of the product and service in this shop.

I have eaten here several times and have enjoyed the food and the friendly service; However, as a vegetarian of 25 years, I was absolutely gutted on my most recent visit to find prawns in the dish that I had ordered from the veggie menu. There was a slight apology and the dish was quickly replaced, however, I felt that the integrity of the place was compromised and I would never, ever eat here again. This lack of attention will apply to anyone with a food allergy or intolerance, it's a risk not worth taking!

Good food and atmosphere but could not believe it when the staff started hoovering and crashing about clearing the carvery away at 9PM Completely ruined evening, I will not be returning

KINGS EXCELLENT FOOD WOULD RECOMMEND TO OTHERS

I visited Frenchgate just before Christmas to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were greeted like the most welcome family members (we're not!) and were delighted with everything about the evening. David was a wonderful host, guiding and teaching us about the food and wine as we tasted each fabulous course. I really believe there is not a better place to eat in the area. Not large portions, but soooooo special, Taste presentation, innovation, all fab! Try the wine flight. David selects a different wine for each course to compliment your food. A real treat. We are already saving up for a return visit.
